Just came back from a trip from detroit to atlanta, 3 adults, two kids, 1 dog, and about 600 pounds of stuff in the bed(don't wan't to do that again!). Driving 70 plus mph and on the way down averaged 16. 5 to 18. 3 on overhead. Slightly less on the way back. 2200 miles on the truck right now and averageing around 15. 3 in the city. Did feel the 70 mph vibration but wasn't that bad. Hoping to get a little better fuel numbers but not bad for almost 7000 lb. vehicle. :). Hand calc numbers were slightly higher.

Yeah, the rpm sure makes a difference. I babied mine on a 500 mi trip on Wednesday and kept rpm's at about 1700 - 1800 for the most part. Got 20. 2 mpg. Not bad for a 7500 lb 4x4 quad cab dually from where I sit! Better than my wifes '02 TJ 4. 0l, 5 spd. Of course diesel here is about 25% cheaper than gasoline, too.

I have noticed that around the 60-65 mph range makes a huge difference. Coming home from work the other day I seen 20 to 22. 2 on overhead . I love my new truck! This thing so far is great. Is there such thing as a Cummins/RAMaholic ? If so I think I'm one.
