Obviously everyone knows that the G56 is on hold, if it is not on the dealers lot, then it is NOT to be delivered to the dealer until further notice (per Dodge rep. )

I have mostly stayed away from posting about this transmission issue, But the truth is no one knows for sure why the G56s are on hold - I DO know that an internal quality control team is who put the hold into effect - at this time Dodge corporate will not release further info until the problem is resolved and that can make a statement about why/how/etc

I am sorry that dodge got all the hopes up of everyone that has orders inthe system, only to put them on HOLD

Heck, I have already sold/delivered 6 or 7 of these G56's to customers, and my first question to my REP was: whats up with the ones I have sold and the ones I have on the lot - She said if there is a problem found with the truck on hold, Then dodge will take appropriate action

Current G56 owners: Enjoy your truck, if a problem is found, it will be handled (yourself included)

Future G56 owners: keep in mind dodge is doing this to avoid a repair later that could end up hurting you/ leaving you on the sie of the road (if there even IS a problem)

Again - I hope this all pans out as just a precaution - And that ya'll still give the G56 a chance

Why don't you get off the internet and start answering my phone calls?

Edit:

Nevermind, I'll just keep dealing with your boss. At least he calls me back.

umm... I got off at 6 o'clock and posted at 9:58pm

Yes, you are an important customer, but at this point there is nothing more I can do other that tell you its on hold - So I don't know where to go from here but to refund your deposit and hope you find a truck that fits your needs. . Although I am going to ask the REP if she will make any consessions for you (larger rebates, etc, etc)

PS - I did sell and deliver 3 trucks yesteday (about 2 hours each) - So don't get me wrong, I was a busy guy

Tomeygun did you ever get a chance to test drive the G-56 for any amount of time? If you did, what do you think. It seems as if those that have it really like it. I mean I don't know whether to cut my losses and just go ahead and cancel and order a auto or just hold off and hope for the best. Thanks again for your posting and keeping us updated. :)

This from a guy with 282 posts since January... .....

Tim we feel for ya but either deal with the fact that it is out of Tommy's control or go buy something else. I think Steve has tried to get the point across that all the :{ :{ is not going to help.

All I've wanted since wednesday is the answer to one question. Is my truck going to be delivered by next Tuesday. If not, I was told that I could have a refund. I havne't got it yet. All I've got is corporate excuses thus far and this is unacceptable.

I find it funny how when DC screws all the rest of their customers with things like injectors, vibration, launch shudder, etc. , you guys fly off the handle, but this is just "acceptable. "

The only thing that pisses me off is that I'm about 80% sure that I'm going to have to walk away from this. I didn't order my truck to walk away--I really want it. Now it's, "Pay more and get one you don't want or you can't have a new one because we can't deliver your truck which is 30 miles away from the dealership. " And quite frankly--I can't stand that idea. I really was heart-set on the truck I ordered. :(

Refund is done, and I will call you with the TN dealers's phone number that has a black diesel with NV5600

You seem to have a very bad taste in your mouth, I would suggest that you do not buy a Dodge as I don't think you will be happy with it, every little thing wrong will be blown up due to your experience with this lost sale over the hold, I think DC is doing the right thing, they could have just let the trucks ship and you could have had a break down in a place far from home with no parts available due to it being such a new transmission and having to wait for three or four weeks for parts.

I think you may be happier if you bought a Ford instead, at least you will go in with an open mind and not a grudge in the back of your mind against the truck.

Then again I may be wrong.

I don't care for the Ford. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. My blood pressure has been through the roof for three days because nobody can come up with an answer.

I am sure if he was really in need of a truck for his trip he could have worked something out with a local dealer through DC to get him something till his was released. But more focus was used on complaining over the hold issue.

Good luck with your find.

Tim, Dodge is the one that put the trucks on hold, not Tommy. He works hard to get everyone good deals on trucks and parts but this is something thats outta his control.

your situation is none of my business but I have a feeling the G56 is gonna be like 1998 all over again when the 24v's came out. Everyone thought it was a step in the right direction  Take my advice for what its worth, but the nv5600 is a proven trans that can take just about anything you can throw at it. I am sure there is something near you that fits the bill that you could pick up tomorrow.

Tim, I think what most folks object to is how you have personally been acrimonious ("fly off the handle" for those of you in Rio Linde) toward Tom. He is a saleman, not a DC engineer, who is marketing a product and has been very helpful to a number of folks here abouts (not me personally).

If you will check the threads about the other problems you mention you will find that folks have expressed dissatisfaction with DC, dealerships, or dealership employees who remained nameless. I think if you would lighten up on the personal stuff most folks wouldn't have a problem with you expressing your disappointment.

Just trying to be helpful. :)

Our trucks have problems?? What problems?

Oh, I forgot. I have a 2WD with roll-up windows and 6-speed. I got no stinking problems!!

I have a pickup truck, not a pretty truck... tough truck, not fancy, not much to break.

Cheers!! :)

I'd like to chime in on the effect of Quality Control. When a Mfg. of a product gets a part that is subcontracted it is cataloged. If there is a discrepancy in production and part count then there is a problem.

When I was 18 I worked at a retread shop in Chico, Ca. There were set amounts of rubber that were put on scrubs before curing. We had a 20lb slug left after run and had to junk the 50+ run for QC purposes. Lesson learned was to tare the part!

If the hold is on a certain # of units I would put my money on the premise "Hey bud, why do we have 10 of those leftover".

We sure don't need a 6. 0 forum started here.

Tim I hope that the rig in Tn. Tom wrote about fits the bill.

Tom... ... Thanks for the heads up! :) Mike

The question I have (no flame intended) is why cancel the order and take the refund before you find another truck? It could be released tomorrow and be sold to someone else before you have a chance to reconsider.

As to buying a Ford or Chevy, good luck trying to find one of those with a 6 speed.
