21 yrs old. I'm sure that at some point in the next couple of years there will be a chance to make that trip. You are buying a truck at 21 that some folks could only dream of. We all want our "dream truck" or our "dream vacation" or house or whatever. You should have a little time left in your lifetime to conquer these things. You made a point about the quality of Fusz Dodge earlier. The truck you ordered is 34k, a comparable one in TN is 39k. That might tell you something

Tim,

I'll check with my people here in UTAH and see who they get trucks from back east. I have 2 companies out here that have them on hand for rentals. I hope bumper pull will work. As soon as I have something for you I will post it back here.

I will also check with my local rep on monday and see if I can get a better answer for you about this. We both server in the Army together and after he got out of College I talked him into working for Chrysler.

Next time you mad, try thr gym and work on the bag!

I wish i could have afforded that truck when i was 21. I had to wait until i was 22!! Seriously though i picked up my truck from Tom last week, couldn't be happier with the sale or the service. it is my gift to myself for 4 years in the Air Force. I needed something reliable for school in the fall.

I'm NOT preaching to you. But, when I was 21, (in 1985), I was a senior in college driving a POS hand-me-down 1982 Ford Granada (real hot rod there! ) from my grandmother. I could barely afford to put gas in it, let alone buy an expensive NEW truck to tow "my Jeeps" (plural) to Moab for vacation.

I understand. My previous tow vehicle was a 1987 Chevy C30. I blew the transmission up in December and decided enough was enough with it and put it out of its misery. If I had the time to fix the transmission before my trip, I would, but I don't.

Remember, there are alot of Americans your age fighting and dying right now, so that you and I are ABLE to live the lifestyle we want. Just putting th[ings in perspective.

I know, I was one of them. If I hadn't hurt my knee and had to take a discharge, I'd still be one of them. I miss the military every day, I enjoyed every minute of my opprtunity to serve the fine American citizens, and you're right.

I think you are a standup guy coming on here and apologizing, and it shows maturity. Ya know, take the money you would have spent on Moab, and buy a little 3-4 day package to the Carribbean. Trust me, when you're sitting on that beautiful beach, under a palm tree, looking at the clear blue water, you'll forget all about the truck for a while.

There are few things in life that make me happy and driving my truck at a particular off road destination is one of them. Thanks for the suggestion but I'll just go back to the shop and do some wrenching that I need to catch up on anyway, go back to my life of working 6 days a week, and postpone my vacation.

Yes, a bumper pull will work. My trailer is nothing particularly special (14k GVWR, low profile, bumper pull, 18+2 dovetail).

You're right in that most 21 year olds could never afford a new truck. I guess that should tell you something about how hard I work. I'm gone 12-14 hours a day minimum, 6 days a week.

You're certainly right about that I'll have plenty of chances to do more things in life. That's why I decided it was time to stop being an ***, and start being patient and just playing the hand I'm dealt. Like Rumsfeld said to that Soldier in Kuwait last fall, "You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you want. " That said, this can be taken as some kind of life lesson in patience, which I needed anyway. Plenty of good can come from this.

And, when your truck DOES come in, I guarantee you'll be back here extolling its virtues, just like the rest of us.

I agree and I can't wait to see it. Somehow I just couldn't get myself to drop the cash on a truck I truely didn't want. If I didn't have to bust my *** for the $$ maybe I'd reconsider... but I just have to wait for the truck I ordered... . I'm just too picky.

tim... I have never made any comments about you in all your time on ck5... .

even when you blew me off not wanting to deal with me as a "difficult customer" and I never did biz with you... now the shoe is on the other foot and you are the difficult customer... . except from all these wasted posts and energy airing your "grievances"... time to MOVE ON

this post is NOT ABOUT YOU or your problems... its about G56 transmission issues

I dont know you

I have nothing against you

but I think you should take a good look at all the posts you generate about YOU..... and take a deep breath... you arent going to deal with people effectively in life acting the way you do. .

wasnt the ban from ck5/TowRig a wakeup call to you? How many people (not me) told you to just grow up

think about it...

With Best Regards

cam

PS The United States Marine Corps is a great place to learn about life and have your grievances aired... . the favor of a reply is not necessary:)

How about it moderators? can we keep it on topic

I think Tim has communicated his apologies, and I for one will welcome his continued participation here on TDR.

FWIW, TOMMEYGUN has provided a wealth of help and information to us on the TDR. I feel bad for Tim not getting his truck, but I feel worse for TOMMEYGUN as the situation is largely out of his hands.

I think we should move ahead and see what happens with the G56.

Meantime I'm VERY happy to have my trouble free '03 HO and NV5600 transmission. :-laf

you are on the quick way of getting banned on here like at CK5 tim. ya shouldnt coem here talking to tommygun like it is his fault.

anyway... . im sorry to hear about this problem. another thing that makes me glad for getting an 04. 5 my NV5600 works GREAT

I didn't read the whole thread because of time constraints. I got word from someone who should know. The dual mass flywheel is there to reduce noise. LuK is working out some details on the noise and vibration control by the flywheel. We all know some buyers get super upset about noise or vibration, so it is not surprising DC put the package on hold.

It's a diesel powered 1 ton truck and makes noise too??? ewwwwww :-laf

One more final thought.

I would like to sincerely apologize to Tom for allowing my feelings to override my common sense.

By far the best post Tim has made and it sounds sincere.

Tim will get his truck, Tom really has lost nothing (hint hint), all is well :D

It was 100% sincere and I called Tom to apologize myself, yesterday.

G-56 Issues

My son is in the air force and waiting on the delivery of his first diesel. He's been told that its sitting in a rail yard somewhere but nothing about a delivery hold because of the G-56 trans. He dosen't have time to follow the forum right now so thats been delegated to me. Does anyone really know whats going on yet? Thanks, Jeff

As of this time, nobody seems to know when or if our trucks will get there. Tom said he'd call me when my truck gets in and that's fine with me. I'm sure he'll be here to post up anything he knows about the situation when the information does become available.

Why not wait for a new Megacab?- it may be available time they figure out the G56 issue :-laf

Because it looks like an oversized Dakota. Thank God I ordered an '05.

so has anyone with this new transmission had any issues, done any bombing with them? Yes I ordered one of those new mega cabs I had to have the cummins and the wife had to have the big cab. So flame on :-laf but I still am gonna get my cummins :)

05-NV5600 available

I have a 05 Laramie, loaded NV 5600 with 4000 miles on it, SB, QC, sport package for sale if anyone is interested (anyone other than Tim since I gave him first notice but despises the color RED  ).

I just bought another SRT 10 so looking to unload my CTD. Truck is spotless, and the AFE and Edge box just installed last week is part of the deal. This truck is cleaner than when purchased.

PM me for details.

This just from Dodge today.

The 6spd Manual Transmission (DEG) is on a material restriction, and has been turned off Tops. There are a large number of orders that are in BE (edit error) status with DEG. Orders that remain in BE with DEG will be cancelled on Friday Apr. 8th, 2005.

Way this is looking is that DC will not be building any more 6spd for 2005. This is my guess. But lets hope not this will hurt my business.
