G-56 Question

I'm looking to buy a 2006, 5. 9 with the G-56 manual six speed. Upon checking for the model of G-56 on the data tag, all there is DEG G56, then the serial number. That confused me, as I read here that there should be a "AE" or "AD" to designate the high or lower geared versions.

Anyone help with this? What am I looking at? and what ratio is this?

Get up under the truck on look on the passenger side of the transmission. There will be a bar code tag on the transmission with the letter AD or AE starting the string of numbers. AD is the lower geared and AE is the higher.

If it is an '06 it is definately the lower geared version. There are lots of early '07s with the same trans. The change didn't make it until well into '07 production.

The trans in my '07 is an AD. The truck was built in October of '06 and the date on the trans is 8/21/06.

My Truck was built on Dec 13, 2006 and it has the AE higher geared trans... Compared to my 06, this one is a DREAM!
