Just had G30 recall. You will love it.

Cranked up the truck, overhead reading 11. 2mpg.

Drove out of parking lot, overhead went immediately to 9. 5mpg, stayed there for 1 mile, pulled onto Interstate, set cruise at 65mph. Drove for 6 miles on fairly level road. Overhead steadily increased all the way to 18. 9mpg. As I climbed very slight hill the overhead fell slowly to 18. 1mpg.

It seems overhead is much more sensitive. My truck has never ran in 18's that long.

Great going DC.

If hand-calculated ends up matching the overhead, that's good news indeed. Here's to hoping that the EVIC is accurate and they didn't just recalibrate it to be a "feel good" display.

I'll put my $$$ on your second choice!

What I have learned from 8000 miles of watching my overhead is that after this flash they have made it more responsive. Which is good. When I am descending it should increase and it does, when I am climbing is should be falling and it does. DC programmers had NO idea I was showing 9-14mpg before the flash. Time will tell. When the flash was done it was related to the module installation. The flash would incorporate every and all updates and changes since the beginning of time.

My dealer told me that since I already have the AU software and all they will do for the recall is replace the module.

The EVIC MPG is based on average fuel economy, so if the overhead was just reset by a tech you will initially see large changes depending on driving style, it is almost "instant" but not quite. This will level out as you keep driving.

Man, I wish I could say I had the same results. Had the G30 done yesterday, and within 20 minutes after I left the dealer, the MIL light was on again. Regardless, I filled up and reset the EVIC to see if there was any appreciable difference with mileage. Have not seen any difference yet, but only a few miles since the fill-up and reset.

Hope the rest of you have results like cumminz and not me!

That doesn't sound too promising. I'm having mine done today so hopefully it will come out OK. It's been fine so far for 7000 miles. I've had the MIL light on 3 times for P2262s a while ago, and the ETC light comes on if I try to use high idle, but neither of those things have ever affected drivability. I was torn about whether I should even have the recall done (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) but I figured it was tempting fate not to.

Mine is going in on Tuesday. The dealership said that they can only do 5 a week because of parts availability. A 3 mpg bump would be very nice especially at $3. 35 a gallon for diesel.

Misterscott - don't get too excited! I have actually seen a decrease in my local mileage... have not been on the highway yet. Plus, in 3 days my MIL light has been on and off twice already (currently on. )

I wish you all the best. Let us know.

10. 5k miles. Purchase date 3/31/07.

I haven't filled up yet to really know whether there's a difference but the overhead would tend to indicate that there isn't. It is showing around 18. 5 right now after 1 and a half days of commuting which is only slightly higher than I would expect with how I've been driving. Of course, if the recall somehow made the overhead accurate then that would be an actual improvement.

No MIL light or ETC since the recall but I did have the water in fuel symbol appear briefly when I was going through a car wash on the way home. The dealer managed to get oil all over the front of the truck and splattered on the windshield but I didn't notice until I'd already left.

I think it would be a good idea for all that post responses here on this recall to give your present mileage and date you purchased your truck.

Just had the G 30 recall work done today. I watched the Tech. do the AU download and I had the AR program. I topped off the tank and have seen an increase but will report on next fill up. I have noticed the water in fuel light stays on longer at start up and I "think" I hear the turbo more.

I just picked mine up from the dealer. Went straight and filled up. Pump quit at $100. 00 and I only needed about 3 more gallons so wont get the best reading for awhile. Drove about 15 miles of in town and I can't tell any diff. yet.

Built date 3-23-07

purchase 5-22-07 39 miles

g30 11-09-07 18425 miles

My P2000 code may have been a one time thing. When I cranked it today I got no codes. When I started it the other day I cranked it when cold and no hesitation in turning the key. Went straight to tow/haul and pushed the ebrake switch. Maybe it was a combination of things.

Build date 3/07

G30 11/5/07

8100 miles

After driving out a full tank @ 70mph all highway I got 16. 4mpg. with the Edge Juice on "0" (stock), I can live with this as I only have 5500 miles on the truck. The AU was worth a full 2 mpg for me. The Tech. that did my flash told me the one other flash he did last week had similar results. He also said the owner reported more power. On the current tank I have the Edge Juice on 1 (mileage) and will run the next 4 tanks with the next 4 settings on the Edge Juice to see what happens. On my '05 3500 SRW Auto. I got my best mileage on 4 (race) 20-21mpg.

Average has been 11. 383mpg

7 tanks of fuel - 2600 miles

all hand calculated

mostly in town driving, 2 trips around 500 miles round trip towing 3000lbs.

mfg date 06/07--Mexico

delivered 9/29

G30 was done 11/8 - filled up 11/10

waiting to see this next mileage.

have another 400 mile round trip coming up the end of this month towing the same weight.

I have seen it improve. 1st tanks were in the low 10's, now I'm in the upper 11's to low 12's. I would love to see 15 or better!!!

My P2000 code has not come back but after just 2000 miles my engine service light has come on. I am rethinking the idea of ever getting 7500 miles between oil changes. I think I plan to simply change oil and filter every 3k like I used to.

Had G30 done Friday. No problems so far. What is the G30 Recall? the service desk says it has to do with emission, got to be more. Maybe they don't know.
