Took my truck in Tuesday for recall only to have the MIL come on after leaving dealership. The reason for not wanting recall fixed. (If it ain't broke don't fix it!!) They didn't have the latest update version from Chrysler for the ECM re-program. The problem solved after new ECM up-date and EGR de-soot was completed. Mechanic said there was a pretty good amount of accumulation on the EGR and asked if I used my e-brake. Truck has 14000 miles and about 10000 of that is with pulling 11,000 lb trailer and using e-brake. He informed me that Chrysler is recommending using the brake as often as possible to prevent the build-up of soot. Many nightmares out there about this soot problem. I have seen no difference in mileage or power. I had the oil analyzed after 7000 mile from dealer change. Blackstone advised only about fuel in oil. It was 4% which is over the 2% recommended. I switched to synthetic and will analyze again in 5000 to see if my money is being wasted on expensive oil changes. After having a 2000 model (2500) with 165,000 and another 2003 model (3500) with 203,000 and no problems from the engine, I think I will still stick with my Cummins. The bugs always have to be worked out as with anything new on the market (diesel emissions). I'm sure when the other manufactures follow suit, there is going to be considerable learning from experiences with the Cummins closed system. I wouldn't trade my truck for anything.

I just got the notice for the G30 recall. Which dealer did you go to that had the latest version. ????

Thanks Mike, Looks like I will have to put my DPF back on and go get all the latest flashes done and then get serious about moding my truck. :-laf

Well I had the recall done a few weeks ago and the truck just threw the P2262 code the other day. I took it to a very good Dodge diesel dealership and they told me that they did a specific flash that had not been done, cleaned out the a downtube or soemthing related to the exhaust brake and told me to use the brake more frequently. If it does it again, then a new turbo. They would not replace my turbo on the first go round. This is all after the G30 recall. What happens when the truck goes out of warranty and even with exhaust brake use the same thing happens?

A P2262 is Turbo boost pressure not detected. so I would imagine EGR has a lot to do with Soothing up the Manifold Air Pressure sensor. Most likely they took it out and cleaned it to solve the problem. Darn EGR will mess with a lot of things. :{

I had this same code

my friend who is a dealer tech called the Chrysler hotline and they told him the actuator for the turbo gets soot in it and they were making a flash to resolve this which was to cycle it on start up. I think the AU software took care of this issue.

i have not had the light come on for a few months. Drive it with the EB on from time to time to help clear out the soot.

a new Turbo will not fix this issue. It will fix it until it gets dirty and you would be in the same boat. the Turbo unit is over 4000. 00 dealer cost that is why they want to try to avoid putting one on. I agree since it is not a fix for the issue.
