G56 - any aftermarkets with more gears

Would love to have a 7 or 8 spd for lower revs/higher speed cruising empty. Anyone heard of aftermarket replacements or a trans from a larger truck fitting ?

Manual trannys typically have only one overdrive regardless of the amount of gears, so top gear would still be the same. Maybe an axle ratio change or overdrive unit, such as gearvendors.



There are two different G56 trannys however, the early ones had a short overdrive with the later ones having a higher overdrive. I am not sure of the change date.



ps..... I see you have an 08, I am sure that will be the higher geared one.
