Anyone change the fluid in their g56?

What fluid did you use, how much, what about the 1 extra quart thing?

How did you change the fluid, ie is there a drain hole and fill hole like on the nv5600?

Thx

Dave

Following is part of the official procedure:

4. Remove the 5/6-shift fork pivot pin from the left side of transmission. (NOTE: There are 5/6 shift fork pivot pins on both sides of the transmission, located directly above the PTO covers. Do not remove both 5/6 shift fork pivot pins at the same time)

5. Add the extra 1 quart transmission fluid, p/n 05013457AA, through the shift fork pivot pin hole using a pump.

6. Install the shift fork pivot pin and tighten the pin to 110 Nm (80 lbs)

The first three steps had to do with ascertaining if the fluid level was low. This was from the original Rapid Response Transmittal #05-006.

Have fun!

The G-56 uses ATF and it will take 12 PINTS to fill.

So basicly you drain and fill and then have to add the extra quart?

Is that 12 pints and then the 1 extra quart?

ATF, any fancy version? ie mercon3, 5 etc...

I don't want to leave this up to the stealership, when they cleaned my fuel system (water/bad batch fuel) they bent the crap out of my a/c fins. Bunch of monkeys.....
