is anyone doing this commerically yet? i will run this auto till it drops but at this point, im not spending a dime on it (besides fluid and filter). im hoping to find someone whose doing this with a modified crossmember rather than a body lift(not an option). ive seen at least one guy do it here.

anyone see more?

I did one on my 99 4x4 and all i had to do was notch the cross member 1 inch and chang drive line lengths so im asuming the same could be done on a 2wd it took me about a weekend to do the whole swap

Man, you must been reading my mind, been wondering the same thing, can't stand the auto, 4 gears is just not enough. one question I have is the ecm, It appears that there is a difference in manual/auto ecm's, Idle speed fueling is one of the parameters that is different. now if I would get an ecm for an 02 manual woul I have a problem with the VP44? SO on auto/HO on manual? Can this be flashed or is it hardwired?
Wondering if there is a partslist floating around somewhere with all the needed stuff?. Are all clutchpedal assemblies 94-02 the same or do you need to find a 02 specific?? sorry to hyjack your threat.

i think the computer parts could be flashed. my thought was to pick up a wrecked stick shift truck at start robbing parts. i just think finding all the little stuff to get it done could become overwhelming. i have kicked around the idea of just trading my truck for a stick shift but i got this one 4 months ago with 29k on it and i dont think ill find another in this good a shape.

KKunz, was your truck a stick to begin with?

Just picked up the pedal *** and shift tower out of a burned out '99 shouldn't need a whole lot else, planning on getting the upgraded hydrolics from South bend, with their flywheel and clutch. not sure what to do about the dashboard.
PM me if you like ,maybee we can get a partslist/to do list going.
Pete
