I did some searching and can't seem to find the oil check plug, or is the T-60 plug on the drivers side, the one you check oil and fill at?

I've pulled both T-60 plugs out, both seem to be at the same height, are these the check/fill oil holes for the G56? You can only stick your pinky in there and it seems to be a blind hole to the depth of the bolt, is this right? Do you fill it till it runs out this hole? I'm trying to check my fluid level, and not getting anywhere. Can someone shed some light? Thanks, Brad

you pulled out the T-60 bolt?

Did the bolt have threads about half way then turn solid?

Did the bolt have a rubber o-ring on it?

What Dave smith told me and dishman dodge is to take out the allen head bolt and fill until it runs out the fill plug and then add 1 additional quart through that T-60 bolt (depending on how much you put in the fill plug hole) which would be either the 2nd or 5th gear shift fork bolt.....

Dough:1, Yes, 2,Yes 3,Yes Dough and 2Broke, So really, there is no way to check the fluid level, if you take out the 14mm head, then your bound to lose some, or it ends up draining it, Then refill it. This is about as much of a joke as the grease fitting on the drive shaft. Thanks for the replys though, it is appreciated. Brad

I know I have read on this before. But do we have anything that says there should be and extra quart of atf in the G56? Or is just filling until it runs out the 14 mm fill hole as per the owners manual enough??

Confused

There was a TSB for underfilled G56's and thats what they do to fix the TSB... . Had something to do with the Fill plug being put in the wrong location or something like that...

the TSB I read was for just the orignal G56's that came out. They were blowing up so they put a hold on all G56's. They discovered the trans was put together dry and by over filling the trans it forced oil into this problem bearing. But after that all I can do is guess, kind of like the dealers do.
