G56 or 5600?

My buddy came by tonight to show me his new 05 cummins, the dealer told him he has the new 56 but when i crawled under his truck the only think aluminum i saw was the tailshaft where it bolted into the TC and the bellhousing. i thought the 56 was ALL aluminum. it also says NG22727 on the side so i am pretty sure this is the 5600. But then it doesn't have the Pto access covers on both sides. . what do you guys say?

NV5600 Reverse is up-right, G56 is down-left on the shift knob.
