The noise difference is a big reason why OEM's went to the DMF in the first place. A "quieter, more refined" experience. That may have been the mark in passenger vehicles but I'm pretty sure they missed it in the HD line and likely contributed to the G56 demise.
 
Funny that reminds me of when my Dad installed a new clutch in his 72 C20 with granny low. It wasn't working properly and he nudged up against a telephone pole with it in granny low and hit the juice and let our the clutch causing lots of smoke. He said now it works better!

The higher the gear the easier it is to slip.
 
update - i LOVE the clutch. 500 miles now. truck is quieter, and smoother all around. also, the clutch is quiet, along with the gear noise. turns out the lower boot was torn, and i fixed that , and now the trans is quieter than stock. amsoil atf is what i put in. this clutch is what the truck should have come with. again thanks for all the south bend referrals. cheers all! :)
