As of Friday the 15th all 6-speeds will be released to dealers. There is afix to be done before sale and have not seen the exact details yet. Guess I was wrong about the auction bit

Great news Rick!! Oo. Please let us know the "exact details" when you find out what is the problem. I am interested in knowing because I also have a truck on order with the G56.

Seth

Rick:

Are we still ok to order 05 diesels?

I put two orders in today for grins&giggles - one 2500 one 3500 - I got VON's - but I will see if they get past "BE"

Have you heard that we are done for the year?

My info says yesterday at 11 PST was the last for ordering 2500/3500's.

Tommeygun

Sorry for the brief answer. I also got a VON after the deadline but if history proves out, they will string me along for a month or so and then "BE" me. I've had that happen every year for the past 15 I've been doing this. But hey! If in fact GM and Toyota are coming out with new stuff, it could be we will see TOPS open early for the Mega Cab to compete. Only the Shadow knows!

Go on wit cha bad self! ????????????????

No wonder I didn't exactly communicate. Rap not spoken here. :-laf

Rick, even though I don't have a truck on order (this year) I can empathize with these guys because of some issues with the truck I ordered last year. It's NOT the truck I ended up buying because of delivery delays.

Thanks for keeping everyone updated.

so what about us guys that already have the G56? Will there be a recall?

The conservative answer would be yes. However, as I stated before, we do not have transmission parts all over our shop floor. These, so far, have not failed in any numbers so it may be an "as it happens" situation. However, we will get a list of VIN's that are affected and some may be sold and yes there would be a recall on those. Sorry, but too many unknowns currently to effectively answer your question.

Wow, four years of Internet participation, and I finally get reprimanded.

Dan, I am on TIM's side. I wasn't baiting, I was making a joke. I think Rick here is doing all our members a service by keeping us informed.

Hey, it could be worse. My post just got totally waxed and I was just giving congrats to Tim for the good news, and I wasn't even given a reason as to why. I had one deleted where I was trying to help someone? I guess my opinions and comments were just deemed irrelavant.

Sounds like they are going to issue an RRT. RRT's are only for stock units, so at least for now, my read is, if it made it out and has not broken, it probably won't.

Thank GOD!!!

See guys, there was light at the end of the tunnel. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I didn't buy a truck I didn't want.

Tom, I'll be contacting you tomorrow!!!!!

Oh it's such a glorious day.

My trip is NEXT WEEKEND!!!

Tim. . I don't want to rain on your parade but remember, the dealer MUST fix before release. I still do not know the part availability situation nor the time frame to fix. For your sake I hope Tommeygun gets yours first in line (If I was him I would do it out of self defense... lol)

UPDATE! This is not in any way confirmed but this "fix" may be easier than we thought. It may just consist of a 10-15 minute computer flash to correct a high RPM situation. No parts required. This would seem to me to be just too easy after all this. . read "Murphy's Law".

Anybody got any thoughts in this direction? I am not technically qualified to make an informed judgement.

Rick, Thanks for posting the info on the G56... I am new to the registry and I ordered a 2005 5. 9 4x4 w/ a G56 from a dealer here in CA on Mar 7th... My dealer seems to be out of the loop or hiding... Thanks again!!! My dad loves his truck that we bought from Dave Smith in 04>>>
