My lowly 48RE did 288/546. Poor little G56 just can't take the power like the auto. :-laf :-laf

In stock form the fuel is ramped down under 2K in all the CR's. :D

Different dyno, diffferent day! I assure you, same dyno, same day, your auto will not lay down as much power as the G56.

Well thumb back a few pages to page 72 and look at the tow ratings of the automatic vs. the 6-speed manual. It says that the automatic will tow 3,000 lbs more than the manual. I posted a new topic on the General Diesel forum about this.

If this is true, then the big puff piece on the G56 is just that ... a puff marketing piece. Dodge had BETTER GET A REAL TRUCK MANUAL transmission for he Cummins unless they are planing to phase out manual transmissions!
i wouldnt put to much stock in those factory published rateings. gm pulled the same crap a few years back[likely still do],they were rateing the auto to pull more weight then the manual, yea ok! my theroy, they have more profit selling an in house auto, over an out sourced manual. [at least in years PAST] take a look on the lot's,[any brand] and you will see the manual transmission is becoming extinct. dodge, has got the largest number of manual transmission trucks on new lots, and even they have taken a downward turn in the past few two years.

"Reason being, you "can't" abuse an auto that way you can a manual" - this was what I was told by a fleet owner, and his reasoning for buying all autos.

I also believe the general public wants autos, so they are not going to produce as many manuals... if there isn't the demand.
