G56 transmission tech question.....

Working on a buddy's truck - looking for information on the G56 trans..... specifically the front input shaft movement or "play" allowance. Anyone have a factory service manual that may show the amount of side movement allowed before a trans rebuild is needed? I felt a newly rebuilt trans and it had no real noticeable side to side play..... our truck has a somewhat loose feel to the input shaft.... I have not yet measured the amount though. Help?

I ordered the Factory Service manual (on CD).... we'll see what, if anything, they say about the G56 transmission input shaft.
