It's here

It arrived on the 3rd of June, Box is off and we are making up the frame work for the Holland 32 K 5th. Gearing seems perfect except for reverse is quite high, so we'll have to use 4wd low for heavy backing. Just wish the 2wd Low switch worked on these new trucks.

I too felt that the reverse gearing is higher. Does anyone know the reverse ratios? If your searching for gears for the aam axle I would get a Fourwheeler magazine and call people who advertise in the back. A couple of vendors that come to mind are yukon gear, randy's ring and pinion, richmond gear. congrats on the new truck

OK. This didn't work the first time I tried it maybe it will this time. Apples and apples this time. The final drive ratio for the NV5600 with 4. 10 and the G-56 with the 3. 73 are the same.

Dave, not sure what you're trying to show, it's not the final drive ratio that's of concern on this thread. It's the ratio of 6th gear, . 73 versus . 79 (look at the chart). Quite a difference obviously.

kah68, so what transmission and rear end did you end up with? :)

It's both that make it a gross mismatch, but in my personal opinion, the NV 5600 and 4. 10s were poorly matched as well. I drove a truck so equipped, and the price was right... and I still walked, because I couldn't stand driving it empty. It needed at least one more gear, if not two.

Tim I don't agree with you on much but this time you are right!I keep looking for another gear on the Fwy. Around here if you are not going 80 you are going to be tailgated till you move! With the 4:10 the thing is screaming. Still trying to find someone that wants to trade 3:73 for the 4:10.
