Don't you still have to remove the timing cover to tighten bolts inside cover? It was my understanding after talking to a few shops that have seen dowel pin come out in trucks that bolts inside timing cover come loose and cause pin to move.

This is an overhauled engine so I'm confident the fasteners are tight. I just don't want to take any chances with the dowel pin.
