Looks like there is a video camera on the passenger side glass, is that the video we would see?

I haven't seen a drag for a while, but that picture shows a lot of the forces applied to the slicks, look close at the sidewall.

Maybe we have a photography expert here at TDR that could comment, but it looks like a very narrow depth of field picture that would blur the background and show up as out of focus.

This is something that is pretty finite with motorsports and racing, ET's and MPH, style points don't count it ain't figure skating.

it's also something that can be done in photo editing with any subject to try to get it to stand out better.

I'll still never buy anything from Banks, but that doesn't take anything away from their accomplishments!

Impressive, I don't know why everyone knocks Banks, I have the Six Gun with speedloader and it is great. Good quality products and good customer service.

i knock his products because when i called his company with questions about performance products for my '01 the salesman stated "we developed them with dodge and banks products don't void your factory warranty "

and i don't know how many times i've been at a dyno run listening to an individual who spent more money for banks products only to find they don't deliver as promised ...

banks has the best MARKETING ...

and some of the worst performance per dollar ...

Go post Gale's little Duramax toy on the GM site. This is a site for diesel TRUCKS.

Tube chassis, 20 gallons of cetane boost and a bottle of NOS per pass. It should go faster than that. Maybe the one gallon of ULSD thrown in to keep it classified as a diesel slowed it down.

actually, it's a site for dodge diesels, but this is posted in "other topics" in the "competition forum"

I'm sorry you can't afford to compete... I can't either. But I can certainly appreciate any DIESEL that makes awesome power. And yes, you could run it on pure cetane boost, peanut oil, etc. As you're well aware, the name Diesel doesn't refer to a type of fuel... it refers to a type of engine... invented by a man that originally tried to use coal oil and wound up using peanut oil.

it is a truck, and I'm sure you also realize that engines don't consume NOS to make power.

Actually, my comment was directed at Gale Banks Engineering, not at Forrest Nearing. I don't know you. I didn't say anything to you, nor did I direct ANY comments toward you. I would'nt know you if I bumped into you walking down the street.

You got a bunch of Bank's junk on your ride, that's great. But don't blame me, I didn't bolt that crap onto your truck.

And what does my drag racing budget have to do with anything?;)

I am much more impressed with the Scheid Diesel rail dragster that runs on pure DIESEL fuel, without all the NOS garbage. And it is just a little 6 cylinder! :D

nope, I don't have any Banks stuff... nor will I ever. I was just picking apart your comments. It's a truck. It's a diesel. You said this site is for diesel trucks...

you also said something about octane booster and burning NOS

news flash, Banks isn't the only company out there running synthetic diesel. Heck, when Alex Laughlin went off the end of the track, they attibuted it to not running enough additive in the fuel

Actually, if you would re read my comments, I said CETANE boost and the term 'burning NOS' was initiated by you, not me. See, Forrest, OCTANE booster is generally used in the combustion of gasoline, not diesel. My comments were meant as a joke, playing the dozens with GBE. Not to be taken as fact. We ALL know no one knows what fuel formulation Gale chooses to run in his rig, nor do we care. My future post will all be predicated with a disclaimer.

And the only thing 'truck' on the tube framed Banks rig is the DuraMax block.

lol, you got me on the cetane thing :p

you said they went through a bottle of NOS per pass... there isn't a vehicle on earth that consumes a bottle of NOS per pass!!!

Forrest, give me the definition of exaggeration.....

It was a joke.

You said that thing was a truck. It neither tows nor hauls anything. At least Scott's BBD has a hitch on it.

Okay, okay. It hauls @$$! It's a truck.

well... NOS is a manufacturer of nitrous oxide delivery systems... bottling a corporation must be a bit like catching lightning in a jar :p

there ARE vehicles that'll consume 10lbs of nitrous oxide in a pass, but there isn't a vehicle on earth that's injecting NOS in their engine! :D
