HTT Stage 3 trouble.

Looking for the best price on Superchips Microtuner

ooh... how about a stand alone variable geometry controller for a nice VG turbo with ceramic roller bearings, composite compressor wheel that is big, and i mean BIG, but spools like a hy35. oh i am drooling at the thought of something like that:D:D:D

I was at the BD dyno day today and seen the product that pat was talking about. They are developing a twin setup that uses a Garnett and Swarlizer(sp) turbos. These turbos have a small compounding effect but there main purpose is to provide quick spool-up and still have good top end. Similar to what the new variable vane turbos are trying to do. They looked like a pretty sweet setup.

Turbo's

WANTED--A turbo for a 500+ HP truck that will spool up at 1600-1700 rpm and flow enough air to keep the egt's under control while towing a heavy load.

I'm currently towing with an PDR HX40-18 which works OK. But after tryin out an PDR HX50 I'm now looking for that topend rush of the HX50:D Oh yeah baby! I guess I'm having with-drawls.

For my preferences the HX50 spooled just a little to late to be practical for heavy towing at high elevations with lots of grades and wind.

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for twins? I keep hoping that some one will come up a turbo that is can flow enough air for 500 HP without the lag.

I'm on their mailing list and they sent me their 'updated' catalog about two weeks ago.

This catalog wasn't any different from the last one.....

The Garrett stuff is a LOT more bread than your run of the mill Holset, Schwitzer turbos - this is probably the reason not too many people have plunked down the $3k+ to experiment with the large frame GT series turbos from Garrett.

The plus side of the GT series being available is that the T-series stuff has come WAY down in price.

There's a lot of 'trade secret' type of stuff involved with turbos... . amongst other things..... so getting any nitty gritty information out of anyone will be difficult.
