Gas pedal rattle when using cruise

I just got a 1999 2500 4X4 5 speed with 38,000 miles. Coming to work this morning I had the cruise control set and was getting a rattle from the gas pedal. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

Michael,
Many others on this forum have had the same problem... . The only thing you can do is with your right foot apply pressure to the accelerator pedal firmly until it is mashed into the floorboard! If it still rattles then repeat procedure!

Seriously, I haven't had that problem. Have you checked to see if something is loose with the pedal? Good luck.

I believe I read about a TSB for this problem. I think it required changing the throttle cable. Check out the TSB list.

I have a 95 that has a cruise rattle. However, the 4 wheel drive shifter is the cause. Try shaking the shifter lever.

Thanx Grady. I have been anoyed by that buzz for 62,000 miles. I can't wait to fix it. I love the info off this site. I have cured a few problems with info gathered from the TDR!!!!!
