gas prices again

Well, gas is under $3 again ($2. 99), although diesel is still over $3. I imagine that everyone is happy.

Its just like Ive said before. They jack prices way up, get us used to it, so they can lower them a little and make us think what a deal we are getting. (even though its still at least TWICE as much as it should be. Oil companies are still implying that oil is expensive (although most of our oil comes from Alaska and the gulf, not Saudi).



IMO, the oil companies are a bigger threat to us then Iraq, Iran, N Korea, and Al Queda

I was reading about ULSD the other day and they are thinking $0. 10 increase because of the ultra slow sulfur changeover. I wonder if that has been implentented yet?

The prices at the Flying-J, here in Phoenix, are dropping, slowly.

Last Thursday, I filled up my '91. 5 W-250 & the price was $2. 83/9.

The next day, Friday, I filled up my '03 & the price had dropped to $2. 81/9. Earlier in the week, the price was at $2. 87/9 & had been that price for about two weeks, or so.



One of the things you can do is get a Discover Card (Gas Card). It gives you 5% off your purchase price. I've already saved over $100. 00 dollars on my fuel purchases by using that card. BTW, I don't like credit cards but, a friend told me about it & I could not pass up that deal. It's legitimate!!!



I, also, got a RV Frequent Fueler card from Flying-J. It saves one cent per gallon.



So, with both cards, I'm saving approximately $. 15 per gallon. Instead of $2. 81/9, I'm actually paying closer to $2. 66/9 per gallon. Still not great but, better than it was.



I think the "J" in Oklahoma City is closer to $2. 65/9 before discounts that the cards would provide. I'm ready to move!!!

Here in San Diego I spoke Friday with a Swain Oil Transport driver and he has been informed that by the middle of July they will be distributing ULSD fulltime. He stated to me that the new fuel was "touchy"? He couldn't elaborate further on the subject as he didn't really know anything more. I informed him of the detergent action of the fuel and it was news to him. His job is to safely transport the stuff and that's it.

Per the CEC 40% of California's refiners received oil from "Foreign sources". The rest is 39% from "in state' and 20% from Alaska... . if you can believe the CEC

Theyve never really had an investigation. Its always stopped by the folks in Washington that are getting paid off to stop it.



What theyve found out is that the oil companies can raise prices just because they can. BTW, if we stop using so much oil, prices will still go up even more. The only way to keep the ungodly profits up would be to charge more.

Discover only pays 5% on the first $1200 a year in gas purchase, then it drops to the standard bs rebate! From the Discover site:

I know about the $1200. 00 limit. However, I've still saved over $100. 00, to date. It's a $100. 00 I wouldn't have had in my pocket had I not gotten the card.

I don't care much for credit cards. I'm 60, & this is the first time I have paid for a drop of fuel with a credit card.
