Joe, Joe, Joe, We just like playing with our Rams. To me smoothing the flow is one of those things that can't hurt so why not do it. Years ago drag racing I found that it was the little things that got me to the winner circle. All this is is a little time and at this time in my life I have more of it than money.

OK, sorry, Dee. I forgot. It's kind of like what I am doing. I took off my injection pump and used lacquer thinner and a lot of work to remove the nasty black paint. Let the aluminum show! (OK, Piers, I know its a different element there, aluminium, right? Where in the periodic table is it, anyway? #ad
)

I hope removing the paint will give Sickly another 10 or 20 hp. #ad
I'm tired of wimpy acceleration #ad
[less weight? better heat dissipation?]

Joe, The Next thing your going to be telling us is that your running a K&N and using AmsOil in every thing. LOLX2 First it's Piers going to a 24 Valve and then Joe running Honed Injectors..... What's Next #ad

Well I didn't fall off a turnup truck yesterday either but I have fallen off my motorcycle several times. The ATS manifold made the exhaust to turbo match even worse so I tried to match as well as I could. I did find out however I am not as steady with a die grinder as I thought I was. In the past I matched the Injectors to head on my sprint car motor flowed the thing then the head guy made it look pretty with no real increase in flow to speak of. I sure wish I could make it look perfect but I guess it will have to do for now.

Was it just me or did anybody else notice the size of the propane tank he's running in the back of that truck #ad

Joe, that's an easy answer, if you knew me you'd understand. I never do anything looking at the "value added" aspect as it applies to the bottom line. There is absolutely no way I could ever afford to pay to have the same quality or intensity of the labor I apply to just about anything I do. Case in point; I would be willing to bet I have at least 12 hours of die grinder time applied to my ATS exhaust manifold and Banks turbine housing... that's just with the carbide burrs! [remember I have extensive experience with a die grinder]

..... labor of love or stupidity? #ad

It's coming out nice 00. Did you use heavy enough tubing to support the weight of the turbcharger?

Have it Jet-hot coated inside & out and when finished. Nice Job.

You are saving yourself about 500 bananas making your own ATS Pulse Manifold Clone. It will probably flow better too. #ad

It's all 1/4" wall. As thick or thicker than the stock cast piece. Should easily out flow the ats manifold.

Man that is a beautiful piece of work.
Please don't paint it, grind the welds a little and send it to Airborne coatings in East Hartford for the aluminum ceramic coating, they changed their process, it comes out looking almost like chrome!
It's too nice to hide under paint,show that thing off!

OO, I don't know if you still check in on TDR from time to time but thought I'd shoot this real old thread back up. I'm curious how well this header worked out you built. It was a pretty nice piece as I recall, wish the picture links still worked.
