bad news guys. I just looked and I won't be able to go to Thunder in Muncie. I work 24 hours at Webster Groves fire house on the 7th of June. I will get off work at 6:30am on the 8th. I would much rather see the sled pulls then drag racing. So I don't see my self going this time
That's sad Chris. I guess you can't "trade" with someone else to get the day off? Just a thought. It would seem that with Muncie being 7 weeks away you could get something worked out.
1. Talked to Patty Haisley and she said the pull in greenville has been posponed due to lack of sponsorship. So that ideas out.
2. Dad gave Kenny and I the pulling truckOo. so it looks like as of right now only Me, Mindy, Josh, Dena, Kenny, and Micheal will be going to Thunder. Dad is still undicided. I will be driving it this year. Oo.
3. Chris it won't be the same without ya bud. Had a good time last year.
4. David, we are also gonna be at Lee's this year. We've reserved 3 rooms so if it comes up we may have an extra room for someone.
Doc, I talked to Dale and the day of the Marthasville practice pull is the same as Thunder in Muncie. I assume you have found that out as to your other post. That is too bad as I would have liked to make it to Marthasville. Oh well, Muncie is going to be fun!
I had trouble finding the thread. But anyway. Good news, I will be there, and I am bringing 2 other trucks along, maybe 3. Believe it or not I did not know any of these people till I raced them on the highway, we chatted, and I told them to come to the get together and they are. The weird thing is one guy lives only 3 miles from me, and I never knew it. So hopefully we'll have even more trucks. See Ya there
Dave, glad to see you can make it I don't like it but the forecast for next Saturday has a four letter word in it I hope we have a good turnout as it does get a little slow in the summertime and everyone gets busier. See you there.
yeah I hope the rain holds out. I will be there rain or shine. P. S I did beat both those guys racn'. Sorry, couldnt help myself from adding that. See ya there
Life is good!!! Retired Friday ... . made it to MO this afternoon ... . yeehaw ... . see everyone on Saturday ... ... do they have a pavilion at the park???? if so ,,, who cares if it _____
Keith, there are pavillions there. I just don't like the rain when I try hard to keep my truck fairly clean I just can't find the time to wash it when I need to because my weekends have been full this year since the temps got above 30 degrees as I have been spending most of them at a lot in Southern Illinois debrushing, fighting poison ivy and oak and trying to get some grass to grow, along with cutting down and cutting up trees, etc. It's been fun so far and there is some good light at the end of the tunnel I will be missing the chance to clear and cut some grass/weeds this weekend as I have a date to be at the park
Also, do you know the way to the park? I assume you do because no one has emailed me for directions.
Bye the way Keith, I just remembered you brought your dog to the last meeting @Ryans. The park has rules about no pets I don't think they would do anything if your dog stayed in the truck but that would not be nice for the dog. The authorities do not patrol the park, but you never know when some jerk will call the law if they see a dog on the premises. Just a heads up on some of their rules.
I guess I'll have to leave the pooches at home ... ... oh well ... I'll still be there ... . can you post some directions? Anyone else coming from out I-44 ... . we can convoy ...
I haven't heard anything from Geo Veo, so I wonder if you would want to get hold of him to see if he would want to convoy up with you. Chris might want to meet up with you along the way.
Follow I-44 until you get hooked up with I-55 and then take I-55 into Illinios. Follow I-55 and I-70 until you get to Route 159, about ten or twelve miles into Illinois. Take this exit North into Maryville. Follow 159 until you get into Glen Carbon (a rough guess of 4 miles) and you will see my place of work on the left (Cassens Dodge/Chrysler Dealership). Once you get past the dealership you want to turn left at the next stop light you get to. This is Center Grove Rd. Follow Center Grove Rd. until you just get on top of a bridge over an old railroad bed turned into a bike path (about a mile). At that time you will see a Navy Jet Fighter on a concrete column on your left. The entrance to the park is on the left about 100 feet past the Jet. There is no big sign with the name of the park there, but there isn't another turn to the left at that point so you cannot miss it. Then you will be able to see the rest of the trucks there. The park is not very big so you cannot miss us. If you get turned around and you have a cell phone, give me a yell at 618-530-2151 and let me know where you are.
Keith I will be at the fire house in Webester Saturday morning. I am thinking about staying in st. Louis for a little bit then heading toward the get together. other wise I will end up driving home then turn around and going right back down the same road.
But if you want I will be more then happy to meet up with you and convoy to the get together.
