I'm sorry to bring this up yet again but searching thru post has left me confused. I'm about to install gauges & will be getting the di-pricol fuel press. gauge. Where is the best place to tap into for pressure readings and what pressures should I be looking for? Thanks for any help.

Welcome rferguson,

Go up to the "User CP button at the top of the page ... . scroll down and enter your truck info in the signiture block, then scroll down and click on the submit button. ;)

The "pick-up point" will vary by years.

rferguson,

On your 02 HO there is a banjo bolt at the inlet (rear) side of the fuel filter and another at the bottom of the filter. Using aftermarket 1/8 pipe tapped bolts in these locations will give you readings. Many are using senders at both but if you use one it should probably be at the outlet side to give indications of a plugged filter or a bad liftpump. The inlet measures only the pump. An alternative is the banjo at the fuel injection pump that has a schader valve in it. It's easier to do.

Whatever you chose, your pressures should be something like 16 - 18 psi out of the liftpump at idle, and a couple less after the filter. It will drop somewhat on acceleration but recover. At least these are the numbers I'm seeing so far. I get a drop to 11 psi post filter on accel that comes right back to 14 when I hold at any rpm.

I'm only able to speak about one truck, yours may be something different, but close. Mine's an '01. 5.
