Installing A pillar Pod and Gauges. How do I get Access to the dimmer control where I would like to tie into the electrical. My truck is a 2001.

Thanks

You will need to remove the dash face plate, just give a tug it wil snap right off. After removing it you will see the screws that hold the switch assembly. Once that is remove you can bring the wire down to attach it.

Gauges

Thanks. That worked. A little scary at first. With all that

cracking noise. Im going to run my wires through what looks like the access hole for the clutch. Its a rubber plate. Im thinking of Punching a hole and then filling it with silcone after Im done. Any thoughts on that. Since I have an auto this access hole isnt being used. Which wire did you use from the dimmer. Sorry for all the questilons. When I bought the gauges thet sent me Instructions for a 2003 and 2004.

Thanks again

Love the TDR

you could also tap dimmer power from the fuse box on the left side of you dash near the kick plate. That is what my installer did and it works great!

I used an add a fuse from autozone and hooked into the dash lights fuse and my guage lights dim with the dash... . works sweet... got the idea off this forum.

Mike

Go with the fuse tap for dimmer and to power the gauges - I forget which fuse to tap but, you should be able to read the legend on the fuse door to figure it out.

Gauges

Thanks to all. Gauges Installed,Everything works. Took a little longer then I thought. The add a fuse fom Auto Zone

works really well. The old A pillar which you have to use to mount the new one is a little beat up. I would wonder if anyone has done the A pillar gauge install without using the old one. If so how did you mount it. Thanks for the input from everyone.

Mike

Leave the old A pillar off

It was too tight of a fit with the old A pillar in place and the gauge pillar fits perfectly with out it... I threw the old one away and it also makes the wire/plumbing run much easier. I have mine held in place with one sheet metal screw near the top.

A Pillar Mod

Thanks Mike. I was thinking of doing just that. First chance I get I'm taking the old one out.

Take Care

Mike

I always reuse the old one with the pod glued or rivited to it. I then grind the back out of the old one and leave the clip areas. . this allows the pod to clip in like factory and gives plenty of room for wires etc. . Even on ones that screw in i prefer the factory mounting style. . but again in other vehicles I have done new screws and holes to hold em in.

Thanks

Deo
