Leave it to me to screw up a simple project
. Finally getting around to installing gauges today and went just a tad too far on my threads on the pre turbo fitting. I unbolted the turbo to slide the cardboard inbetween just to be safe and found out you could spread the flange apart far enough to get a finger into the manifold to check depth on the pyro fitting. All done and when I tightened the fitting down, I can just barely feel the bottom of it sticking toofar down. Need to know if it would be alright left alone, or if I need to try trimming a thread off the end, or any other ideas. Still have plenty of room for clearance on the probe if that matters. Sorry for such a long post, but I just happen to be one of those guys that can turn an afternoon job into three days
. Couple more questions if anybodys got time. I know I read its better to run the boost hose inside another for protection and wondered where you found room to go through the firewall? Also, is there enough room in the same place for the pyro wires? And does the probe wire need to be secured anywhere special?
Thanks to any and all replys,
Doug
P. S. Do I need a new exhaust gasket?
