Ok, I got new gauges for Christmas and was wanting to know the best place to tap for the pyro on the 6. 7, I have looked around and could not find much, It might be that I am not good with the search engine who knows. Also, I got the geno's accu temp for the transmission, any suggestions on what line and were to put this? Thanks for all of your help.

O and what is your best advice for wiring the devices up? Buying a external fues box or just taping into a hot wire?

I would suggest that you review issue 61 of TDR Aug/Sept/Oct 2008, page 36-39. A very good spread on how to install the A-Pillar and Gauges in a 6. 7. I would also do a search in this forum and you will see my photos and other that have done this already.

My only recommendation is to have a right angle drill for drilling the pilot hole for the tap.

When i installed my brothers gauges on his 6. 7 i was able to get the pyro between the second and third cylinder. I just had to drill it on an angle rather that straight up and down as i did on my 06. As for the transmission temp sensor i have always been told to get it in the line from the trans to the cooler. Genos sells the adapter for the 06 to but the vibration link on the line and hose clap the fitting in. The 6. 7 does not have the same line, it is solid aluminum pipe so the same fitting will not work. I would recommend purchasing a manifold from Diesel Manor. Cut a section of the pipe out and the manifold has compression fittings that snug right on it. I like it so much i buy a new cooler line for mine and put the manifold on it.

gauges install on 6.7 3500

I just put my gauges in last week. I found both a switched 12v + and variable + out of switch dimmer for cluster lights. I fused them both with a 4 amp flat blade auto fuse in holders under the dash. I decided to use the pod above the rear view mirror for appearance sake. I had the most trouble keeping the pod in place. I ended up using a piece of steel flat stock behind the headliner and screwed to the inside of the pod to keep it in place. I used Isspro gauges and the pyro and transmission temp gauges use a electronic blob between the sensor and the gauge to increase the signal. Both blobs need a hot and ground also. Way too much work running all the extra wires up and over the windshield keeping everything in loom but I like the look and keeping the grab handle. They match the OEM dash lights pretty well. I painted my pod with the Mopar paint from Genos to match the interior. Looks very good.

I drilled my exhaust manifold with a right angle drill just forward of the turbo flange so I could pull out the chips with a magnet without them falling into the turbo. It's about an inch rearward of the factory installed 1/4 inch pipe in the boss on the manifold. I had to remove the black plastic intake pipe to drill the manifold and then it was not too bad. I started with a 3/16 drill and finished with the larger one and then tapped the hole. Then pulled out the chips. The cast iron was soft and easy to drill and tap but I had a brand spanking new drill and tap. I spent the most time extending the wiring provided and soldering and heat shrinking the solder joints then, putting everything in loom, and finally, running all the wires under the truck and under the headliner and A pillar trim. To run wires through the firewall I drilled the plastic Diamond shaped cover for the cluth linkage (I have an auto) and ran all wires and pyro connections through that and resealed with black RTV. Lots of work but it looks cool.

The Isspro gauges use white plastic housings that leak a tremendous amount of light back out of any crack between the pod and truck interior material or between the gauges and the pod and it's not a perfect fit. I had light showing everywhere at night. What to do??? I ended up painting the rear housings of the gauges with black paint to prevent light leaks. It works but I can't figure what Isspro was thinking using that stuff for gauge housings. If used in a dash they would illuminate your shoes bright enough to see how well they are polished at night. Crazy!!!

Well I got mine istalled as well and had some troubles but nothing like you. Mine are the autometer gauges, and everything is great except for my boost gauge. it is the pantom II series 0-35 PSI and it is very irratic after 10 psi, bouncing all over the place. I checked for leaks but have found none, is there anything else that could be causeing this?

I installed my gauges two weeks ago - I used the dash gauge pod - I really like the visibility of where the dash pod mounts.

I used the ACU-TEMP adapter from Geno's for the transmission.

I drilled the EGT hole according to the article in the magazine. I used the intake bolt replacement for the boost gauge.

I like.

Does your boost stay constant? Mine is very irratic when i get into higher boosts anyting over 20 it bounces all over the place?

No Hwork, mine is rock stady but my boost hose is close to 15 feet long. Sounds to me as if your gauge is bad unless you perhaps kinked your boost hose somewhere.
