Come on out to the next NW BOMBer get together or is it now AKA BOMB FEST the drill and tap are in the BOMB Bay #ad

Hey Fred. You should have come on down to Enumclaw with us. That crew would have helped you install them on the spot. I'm going to get my gauges ordered this week, and maybe we can talk some of these veteran bombs around here to help us out with the install.

I think I'll wait on the transmission temp gauge until Bill puts in my VB, then have him hook it up. I know it will be done right that way.

Yeah, I wanted to make it to the NW BOMBer's get together. Was a real bummer reading the sucess posts in the local events section, and seeing the pictures, etc. I should have been in there. -- The pieces just did not fall into place.

The boost and transmission gauge seem easy enough. Few questions on mounting locations and routings. The only thing I am nervious about is drilling a hole in the exhaust manifold.

Working on getting those Isspro gauges Santa brought me installed. Local shop wanted 4. 5 hours. NOT.

1. Instructions say to run the hose for the boost gauge away from heat and vibration. Whats the best way to route that under the hood?

2. Have read and searched the posts and figured I would go the trans temp in the hot line running to the cooler. What parts to I need to install the "T" in the line. Do you really need to cut the line, or is there an existing connection we can splice into?

3. Who wants to drill and tap a hole in my exhaust manifold?

If you want to drive over to Chelan I be glad to tap your hole, but I'm sure you can find a NW Bomber closer. I found the best way to protect the boost line is to push it though a larger piece tubing,1/4 poly tube from the hardware store works great. Keeps it from kinking also.

Where do the NW BOMBers meet. I'd be interested in catching up with them. I live in La Grande OR. I think thats in the NORTHWEST. #ad

I just installed the EGT and the boost gauge in my 1995 2500 5 spd std. I too was afraid to drill the exhaust but took my time and did just fine I kept changing the grease on the end of the drill bit to catch the shavings and did good. I also had a thin enough magnet to reach in the hole topullout any shavings the fell in. Drill bit is 7/16 1/4 in NPT tap.

YOU CAN DO IT

Check out the DIESEL INJECTION SERVICE web page it has an installation page. I installed a boost and a pryo gauge from Banks. I think the Banks pyro gauge is not calibrated because it registers around 120 when the truck is cooled off. I'm waiting to here back from D. I. S.
