Need help with transmission sensor

I am installing a Isspro Pyro (EGT), Boost and Trans Temp. The truck is a 2003 model and I wanted to see if anyone had tips for the easiest method of installtion. Pictures are also very nice to show the placement of the sensors. I plan to purchase the RLT Boost Adapter from Geno's but am not sure of where the bolt which I am replacing is located. I have also found two (possible service bolts) on the side of the transmission, can the trans thermocouple be placed in one of these? With respect to the EGT I would rather not drill the manifold and am willing to live with the different readings that post turbo provides. I have heard that there is a place that I can install the pyro without drilling. Can anyone explain or send a pic of this location.

Where you at? That can help many members will be more then happy to help with the install. If your in the VA area I'm planning a Meet & Greet soon and we LOVE installing gauges! I also want to install one. But not confident to install a pyro correctly. I'm located in Moyock, NC about 40 miles off Norfolk Naval Station Keep me posted with the date you planning for the Meet and Greet.
 
I just ordered a complete Isspro set from Diesel Manor. Boost gauge came with the bolt you're talking about. Infact I have an extra one, PM and I'll give it to you. I ordered one, yet the gauges came with it. It also came with detailed instructions showing which bolt to replace. I'll tear out the pages and mail that too you as well. You can do test port on the transmission. I had mine done that way for a year or so until I did a new trans pan. Some say it's not accurate enough, but honestly between the test port and the pan there's a only few degrees different. Pre-turbo drilling isn't as bad as it seems. Almost easier to get to then post-turbo. Just did my wifes Mega CTD a few weeks ago. Super easy.

I'd be careful about using the test ports, especially the one closest to the front of the transmission on the passenger side. If your sender is too long it could cause a problem by hitting a component just behind this port. Not all of the test ports will have fluid flowing in every gear both forward and reverse. A safer bet would be to buy a B&M transmission drain plug and install that in the pan. I drilled a hole in the driver's side of my pan near the front of the transmission and installed the sensor there. This way you could also remove the sender to drain the pan prior to changing the filter. Cost for the drain plug kit is less than $10.

I definately agree. You never know what could be behind the plug that you pull out. A port on the downpipe side of the truck is a pressure port for the transmission.

Or, you could just install one of THESE.

It is a OEM part so there is no problem.
