Help injector install

I finally purchased my first modificatios for the truck. A tripple pillar mount filled with EGT/fuel pressure and boost pressure DiPricol gauges from Performance Diesel. I now need to impose on you good folks for some pointers/instructions:

1. Where do I drill the hole for sheetmetal screw to attach the pillar mount? Dimensions where to drill would be nice, what size screw. Will one screw be OK?

2. Do I need to use both bulbs in the gauges? OK to wire in parallel? Fuse required? What wire gauge?

3. Specific instructions/colorcode on where to tap the power and ground wire under dash.

4. Is it easier to run the sensor cabling /tubes from under hood ie underhood to inside or inside to underhood.

5. Which MAP plug manifold do I use for boost guage, rear or forward one?

TIA for all help

Yes bulb in each gauge , Yes you can run them to gether but leave plenty of whire 14 gauge is ok . You can tap the Tan wire in light switch easy to get to or at fuse box on dash get (fuze tap at auto store comes with mine fuse . Power for gauge pick up key on power 14 gauge black/ornge stripe wire on steering columum there is also a 18 guage black and orrnge striipe do not use ,tried it don't work. I mounted the tap for the boost on the intake horn ,taped it at the place it flattens out after atachment of hose from cooler about four inup ,easy to do remove the hose cover set aside Keep the drill waste out I used a plastic bag stuffed a large one up past place to tap taped for 1/8 npt used fitting from home depot barbed on end for hose ,I used vacuum line . Use anti-seise no teflon . for sender I have a99 used top of filter , You have to find place on your truck schrader valve ? Ask others look in old posts . I drilled straight through fire wall and used plastic and goop to protect wires mount fuel filter off eng will last longer. Hope this helps . Ron in Louisville KY:confused: Oo. Oo. Oo ///////////P. S wire can be fished and pushed along side of dash with out cutting any thing there is some weather strip to hide the wires push and pull stuff ect and you will see how to do it one or two screws ok and 10 /32 or smaller should do for drill . ///////////////:confused: Oo.

Thanks for the reply Ron.

I am confused about the antiseize. Use it for the EGT probe and the boost sensor, or only for EGT? I plan on using the plug next to MAP sensor for boost gauge pickup. I found the wire for the ashtray plug which is dimmer and headlight switch controlled for my +12VDC and the other side blk/or for ground.

Use the unpainted steel backup for the dash as a common ground , the black /ornge I think you will find is key on +12v . tan wire in switch is dimmer controled as the ashtray . You may find the port next to the MAP port , will cause a pulse (possible ) as for anti-seize use every place but water intake like heater hose connections teflon can be used there . LOL . gauge install

1) we don't usually use a srew to secure the gauge pod over the exisitng pillar. We use the plastic push pins to mount the pod. Some guys put a sheet metal screw at the top of the pillar to secure it.

2) Use both bulbs, it is OK to daisy chain the hot and ground wires for the lights. You don't need another fuse.

3) On the late mdel trucks we ground to the dash support under the colum and run the gauge lights off the ash tray light so they will dim. The keyed on power for the trans temp. comes out of the fuse panel, but that varies, so you will need to hunt for a good source for that.

4) I like to run the sensor cable and tubes from under the dash is both directions as there is usually space around the fuse panel to work the wires up to the pillar for the Pyro and I use the Pyro wire to pull the rest of the wires and boost tube down from the gauge pod while it is sitting on the dash.

5) on the 1998 and new trucks use the back plug with the large 3/4"NPT bushing. On the older trucks use the front 1/8" plug toward the front.

Please call me if I can be of help.

To secure my mount, I used a clip-style cage nut (#10 machine trherad), and clipped it into the slotted hole in the pillar. Then just drilled an appropriate hole in the pillar cover. This way I didn't have to molest the factory steel A-pillar.

I cut two of the clips out of the original, used it for a template, and located where I epoxied the old clips to the new one.

Unfortunatley, I do not have a digital camera. I actually had the cage nuts left over from my days as a swimming pool builder. for those of you who have an Ester-Williams or JW type aluminum pool, it is the cage nuts that the top caps screw into.

It is a square nut that has a piece of metal wrapped around it to form a pair of ears that clip into a hole. The ears basically hold the nut in the middle of the hole.

OK, I'm having some real issues trying to type what I'm thinking. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
