Picking up truck tomorrow but have a problem

For those who are interested, here are a few pics of my gauge installation.

Note that I installed post turbo until the fire gets turned up. Besides, I'm not totally convinced to drill the manifold yet, only need for towing and cooldown.



There is plenty of cable routing and the under-hood wire duct makes the installation look real good.
 
Real nice, neat install :cool: . I like the way they re-did the 03 cockpit as well. Those white face gauges look sharp !!

That is one beautiful installation. Thanks for all the photos and info. Could come in real handy one day soon.

Since I only have a week or so to go until my new truck arrives, I pulled the EGT and boost gauges out of my old truck. But I think that I will buy new ones with the white faces to match the 03 instruments. Will sell my old ones. Beautiful install Dieselman.

Hey Dieselman,

When you installed the thermocouple for your post-turbo gauge, did you remove the elbow, drill it, and re-install it? Or were you able to drill the hole with the elbow still on the truck?
 
It is installed from underneath, gets it closer to the turbo flange. Just climb under the beast and do it in place, wear eye protection though.



Anything on top of the elbow or manifold needs a right angle drill or pull it off, no room.



BTW I've towed a lot with it now (7000 miles), and it's only made it to 1000 once, pulling about 16,500 GCW up a 5-6% grade at 75 on cruise in 65 degree weather (Ox Bow Hill, south of Payson, AZ), I backed off to 60 and the temp dropped to 900 and I felt better, I think 1000 is probably about 1300 to 1350 pre.



I'll put a second Pre- in when I move to the A-Pillar just so I can watch both..... gives me something to do:)
 
Please, let us know when you install the thermocouple in the manifold. I want to know how smoothly it goes.
