Just wondering if anyone knows of a good shop for gauge installation... ... ... ... ... I live in central Illinois... . (Springfield) and have been calling a few truck accessory shops and no one does it.

Thanks

JIM

You new guys crack me up, TST is probally one of the original diesel perforance manufacturers that started this whole ideal of power up-grades for the cummins engine. They are located in Columbus Indiana. Look in the tdr for there add, or go to links page click on engine performance and find there link. :)

y-knot

take a deep breath. There aren't any dumb questions only dumb answers. How is a newbee going to learn? You were new once too. Don't want to start anything just my 2 cents. Keep smoke'em.

Put the gauges in your self. You have all the help you need right here! We are all glad to help. It gives you some bonding time with your beast! I don't think there is anything anybody could break that somebody on here doesn't know how to fix or hasn't broke themselves. Not even counting these trucks!

Just set aside a saturday and spend some time here prepping yourself and have your goodies before hand. We can walk your through it. Your truck likes it when you talk to it and touch it..... Did I go there??

Try Scheid Diesel(Effingham, Ill. 800-669-1934) or post on the TDR that you would like help and I will bet people will come out of the woodwork. :D A couple of beers or hot wings from Hooters usually works as payment.

Would love to do the install myself... ... ... ... ... . just very nervous about the drilling, tapping & shaving's part of the job.

That is the only reason I am having second thoughts about doing it.

Jeez, one guy is talking about touching and talking to his truck and another mentions shaving?

(... and my wife thought I was wierd about MY trucks :D )

Just do it yourself. It really isn't that bad just leave the engine running and then put on some gloves when you go to tap the hole cause the exhaust comming out of the hole gets kinda hot. I also put some duct tape over the exhaust outlet and cut a hole in it to make sure I had good backpressure to blow the shavings out. Just did mine the other day and it was really pretty fun. I was worried about the shavings thing too but there is really plenty of pressure comming out of the hole. Just take an afternoon and have at it!

MARC, MARC, MARC... ... ... . I never said it was a DUMB question,,,,

What I did say is HE CRACKS ME UP... ... He makes me laugh, I am amused by his comment, I find humor in the question, i guess I'm not the only one taking strong medicine??

JEly,

I'm with you about being too chicken to drill my manifold. I'm going to get an ATS manifold and drill that before installing it instead of messing with my stocker.
