Gauge Lights

I tried to do a search and no luck. I pulled the light switch and gauge dimmer switch out and still don't know where to tie in my gauge set light . I want them to come on when I turn on my headlights and also be able to dim them as my insturment s lights do

You can pick up 12v from fuse number 5 in the dash fuse panel. It operates the dash lights on my '99. Just use one of those little clips that go on the fuse blade. I upped the fuse value from 5amps to 7. 5amps when I added the additional lights. They will work with the dash dimmer.

Well that didn't work. . try to search Lordsman on 3-15-00 under the title "12v Inition Source" I know Ignition is spelled wrong, but thats the way it is in the title.

I just used a scotch-lok connector and tapped into the dashboard lighting. It should be an orange wire...

Sorry about the typo. I'm no typist.
Get to the back of your light switch and (if you know how to use a meter)locate the tan wire. Turn lights on and check voltage. Should be anywhere from 4. 5 volts to 12 volts depending on the dimmer setting. Verify on and off as well. Attatch your lead wire with tap-in squeeze connector (18-22 gauge) available at Radio Shack. You must also use 18-22 gauge wire here. I used 18 gauge thermostat wire. Enjoy.
