My 02 has 67K miles on it, and I am finally going to put in the Westach fuel pressure gauge I bought back in 2004. My problem is that I really have no plans to modify my truck in the near future, so I am looking for ideas for mounting a single gauge. I am going to go with the Billet Fuel Cap for the sending unit mount, and may add a mechanical gauge under the hood post filter at a later date. Someday, if I can afford a beefier automatic transmission setup, I may look into adding some horsepower, which will require additional gauges, but for now I just want to keep my VP44 as healthy as possible, and if there are any issues, I would like to identify them before the powertrain is no longer under warranty. Any ideas would be helpful, right now I am torn between the steering column mount, and the solo pillar mount from Geno's Garage.

Geno's has a mount that fits in the cubby hole in the dash. That is another option. I would use that one or the steering column mount for just one gauge.

How tough is it to get to the backside of the cubby hole, and does it come with good instructions? Creativity is not my strong point, and I want this to look nice. Thanks for the replies.

All you have to do is pull the dash bezel off. No tools required. I would imagine it comes with instructions. Once the bezel is off, you will see that the cubby is held in with a few screws. Take them out and put the gauge and mount in. Be sure to run your wiring up to the hole first, of course.

I was going to go for the cubby hole mount, but after setting the gauge into the hole I realized I just don't like having it way over there, too far away and doesn't "look" right IMO that far away from the other gauges. I have decided on the column mount for mine, I just hope it doesn't block much view of the other gauges.

I have the westach f/p gauge in the cubby hole. I already had the three gauge pod on pillar. When I got it from Genos, it came with the mounting plate free. I believe its around $7 if you buy it individually. I think the gauge looks cool there, and it makes the dash look cleaner because the cubby hole was just a catch all for my reciepts and pens and such. Installation is easy, as other guys have stated.

I have my Westach FP gauge in a steering column mount. It works good there since I have 3 gauges on my A-pillar. It doesn't block any of the gauges, but it does block the idiot light for 4WD. I will try and get a pic this weekend.
