Not everyone uses the pillar mounts for gauges, where else is it possible to place them? Are they easily read? Do I need to go with a 3 inch face? Is it better to use a seperate gauge for turbo boost and egt?

<font color=blue>Here is one option that is kinda different -

I have the #15002 Autometer triple gauge dash pod. It uses the center screw on the dash to mount, and is all the way against the windshield between the defrost vents.

I don't have it installed yet, as I had some problems with a defective pod, took a lil bit for Autometer to make a new one, but they did with no questions asked.

Here is a couple pictures of it..... Note: These are NOT my gauges, I took these pictures off the Autometer website.

If this doesn't work out to my "liking" then I will go with a dual gauge pillar mount, and put the transmission temp gauge in the cubby hole next to the radio.

I bought three different gauges so I can not tell you if having a combo gauge is good or bad, it all depends on what you like personally.

Hope this helps.

I mounted my three gauge units on the dash below the ash tray, angled towards drivers side. On my 3500 5 speed it had to go a little lower to clear the shifter. You do have to glance down to see them but its no big deal. Also put a 1/16 inch strip of white tape at 1350 on the pyro, that makes it easy to see when it's time to back off at a glance.

Hey milkman,

I mounted my gauges just like the picture that KatDiesel showed. If you notice the reflection in the photos, well, it is there. You'll also notice that almost anything you put on the dash, including a dash mat, will reflect off the windshield. Since I sit high in the seat, the reflection is still in line with the hood, so it does not interfere with MY vision.

When you get ready, check out egauges.com. Don't know if they are the cheapest, but their prices were good when I bought mine. Don there is also excellent to deal with.

Regards.

Hal
