Anyone have any pics of how and where they mounted their gauges? I'd like a dash mount 3 gauge kit, but I'd like to see it in someone's truck first. Where do you run the wires? Thanks. THis place is great!

Heres mine, I use Autometer Procomp Series using the green cover for the bulb. Almost matches the dash lights... .

Pillar is the replacement and I bought a spray paint that is the code match for the interior code so it looks like stock...

Here is the first template of a custom pod that I am working on. The final version is another 1/2" shorter at 2 3/4", and the overall length is 22". It can hold 5 gauges, but I will be mounting my various switches and some LED's in the left and right side.

As it sits it nearly follows the hood line on the left edge and leaves the front edge visible. No obstruction of my view of the road.

Take a look at my gallery for some pics of how my gauges are installed. The boost and EGT are on the A-pillar and I used a bullet mount to put the fuel pressure gauge down by the shift tower in front of the transfer case shifter. It's easy to read by just glancing down, but out of the way enough since I don't keep my eye on it all the time.

Isspro gauges.......

Here is a pic of my Isspro gauges. The rainbow pyro gauge is real easy to read going down the road. You don't have to read the numbers to know where your at, just the color range keeps you safe. Sarge

Wow thanks for all the pics. Looks like most of you prefer the pillar mount to the dash mount, is it a cleaner install? I'm wondering why most of you install the Pyro gauge sender in the ex manifold? On most of the big trucks i work on they're in the ex pipe after the turbo. Why do you guys choose the manifold? Thanks for all the pics.

The reason for installing in the manifold is because it's MUCH more accurate since the after turbo temp is a lot lower then pre-turbo. It varies so widely that just applying a rule such as 300º is not enough for me since I can melt mine down at high speeds if I'm not watching it close. Also the response time is pretty slow post-turbo whereas pre-turbo it's immediate. I like the pillar mounted gauges because it does make a very clean install and looks more like it belongs.

Ok, so now where would be a good place to buy some gauges? I think I'll go with the auto meter pillar with boost, egt, and fuel pres gauges. Any suggestions on places with good prices? Thanks

Could someone please tell me where to find the pics of some guy's 'Rod's Pod' guage installation I just saw?. . I think it's a recent post. . I can't locate it again. . Looked all over. Thanks. . JohnG

Xmonitor

Anyone with any comments for or against the Xmonitor digital setup?

Have considered this myself for transmission temp, egt and fuel pressure (just hope they come in that combo) and going with an analog gauge for boost. Beauty of the Xmonitor is that you can set limits then if and when the limits are reached, the numbers will flash at you.

Digital is cool, but...

I think they're too hard to read at a glance and that blinking $h1t drives me crazy.

I'd show you mine, but I never took any pics of the old ones and the new isspros are still in the boxes.

They always look good and they're easier to keep clean that way. ;)
