I know this subject has been beat to death but I have a couple of questions. I really like the Quadzilla panel that goes below the heater controls but does it snap in or is it screwed in? Also how about the viewing angle on the guages? I was looking down at the area as I was driving to work and was thinking about trying to mate a pillar pod with this mount. By that I mean cutting the end of the a pillar pods off and mounting them on the flat panel to try and give the gauges a 15-20 degree up angle and a 10-15 degree angle to the driver. I think this can be done I'm just not sure whats the best way to "mend" pieces together. Any suggestions? Also does anyone have an extra 3 gauge pillar mount they'd get rid of cheap? I'd hate to cut up a new one!

This is how I installed mine, there were no instructions with it, there may be other ways but this is how I did mine. The panel actually gets sandwiched between the cubby pocket and the dash panel, you remove the pocket, lay the panel in and put the pocket over it and secure it with the 4 screws you took out to remove the pocket. The rubber pad in the pocket gets removed leaving a small rectangluar hole in the back where a tab on the rubber pad holds it in, I ran all my wires and tubes through this hole. I installed the guages in the panel then routed the wires through the hole because once it is secured to the dash you cannot access the back of the guages. I found the panel did not follow the curve of the dash very well so I used tyraps between each of the rear guage brackets, this caused the panel to bow so it followed the contour fo the dash perfectly. You do not have to alter anything to install the panel and you could put it back the way it was and no one would ever know. So if you get the panel and do not like it, you can change it and you have not altered anything. I can see it pretty well and once you get used to were the needles should be if they are not it is easy to easy to notice. I do not think there is enough room to angle the guages twords the driver as they are pretty tight with the pocket installed over them, you could perhaps angle them if you did not use the pocket but I am not sure how you would secure the panel then.

Guage Pods (angle)

I used the Quadzilla plate and don't like the angle of the faces of the guages, but don't know the answer. I have been looking at some angle products made for this purpose marketed by "Jegs" but I don't for sure know how they would work given the space constraints behind the plate as mentioned above. If they would allow the guages to fit in the space provided they would solve the problem. You can check them out at www.jegs.com the item number is 105-2234 Angle Rings at $7. 99 per pkg. of three. Let me know if you try them . Larry

Thanks for the info. The rings look like what I had in mide now its just a matter of making them work. With your gauges do you think they need to angle up more or more towards the driver? I think with the 2 1/8" angling towards the driver wouldn't be a problem to angle them up may take some trimming however. I noticed that one of our members makes his own version available without holes and I may try that and move the holes up accordingly.

Be careful if you've got a 6-speed... shifter could strike the gauges in 1st, 3rd, 5th, or reverse if they stick out too far!

Guage pods

JV if it were me I would just angle them more to the driver, perhaps up a little. As it is I just remember where the danger zones are so if a needle gets there or near there I can pay attention. The guages are at a distance where I can't read the numbers real well anyway with out glasses which I don't wear yet while driving. Sort of wish I had installed digital guages like I have on my motorhome much easier to read but then they wouldn't match the stock in appearance. Whats a guy to do?

If you get the Quadzilla plate I would recomend you check out the room behind the plate with regard to the side of the pocket behind the guage on the far right, that is where I think there may be a prob. Larry
