O. K. , I hate when I have to post a question that has already been beaten to death, but I am confused/discontent with my gauge purchase. I have read most of the posts on the topic and studied the latest "poll" thread, which was great help, but I am stuck in the final decision.

Here is where I am. I am stuck between the dual A pillar with the Westach dual Boost/Pyro and fuel pressure gauge setup from Geno's. I spoke to Andy over there on Friday and was very impressed and alsmost called back to put my order in. Today I spoke to Doug at Diesel Power Products and again was very impressed with his knowledge and his offerings. He was doing Isspros on a three-gauge A-pillar mount and I likes the fact his mount comes painted.

My questions:

-Westach or Isspro?

-Mechanical or electric FP gauge?

-Combo Boost/Pyro or separates?

-Which match an '02 stock gauges better?

-Am I missing anything??

My use of the truck is for daily commutation and towing occasionally between 7K-10K. I will be BOMBing with an EZ, BHAF, and maybe 275s down the road.

Again, I apologize for the common question, but I think some of the things I am questioning have not been answered unless I am missing something. Either way, thanks for all of your help. I know a few 100 $$$s is not a big purchase, but the boss is keeping a tight eye on the finances after the purchase of the truck.

I have ISSPRO gauges and love them. I know some people have complained about the visibility at night but I think they light up great and I have zero complaints. As far as electric or mechanical, ISSPRO doesn't make an electrical fuel pressure gauge so that decision is easy. I like the multi-colored ISSPRO EGT gauge because it's easy to see at a glance. I'm not sure I'd like the dual read-out gauges but then again I don't have them so that's just my opinion.

Which gauges seems to be more of a personal preference.

Have you had an opportunity to sit in various vehicles and actually look at different setups?

I like my Dakota Digital's in the dash pod, but that kind of puts me in the minority for several reasons:

1. Electronic FP Sender, most seem to prefer mechanical.

2. Digital, most like analog.

3. Dash pod, most like A pillar.

In the end, you have to decide what you want to look at and make the decision based on your comfort level.

This is my exact problem. I have not located any local TDRers. Ideally, I would love a two-mount steering pod and run the Westach combo and FP gauges. I really do not like clutter and do not need to boost my ego by running a big gauge cluster on my A pillar(just kidding all of you multi-gaugers:p ). Realistically, with the BOMBing I have intended, I don't know how much I am worried about the EGTs and Boost since I doubt I will be in too much trouble and I have surmised that as long as I check the FP once in a while I should be OK. This tends to lead me to the Westachs and dual pod mount, but the stuff from DPP seems to be cheaper and comes painted. See why I am unsure?

Any more input would be very helpful.

Thanks.

D'oh, I forgot to put my location in my sig! Sorry 'bout that. I am in south/central New Jersey.

I think I have decided to go with the dual pod A pillar cover mount with the Westach combo and FP gauges. That should allow me to mount the cover as low as possible. Seems like the most cost effective, non-obtrusive setup. Unless anyone can talk me out of it for some reason. :)

Did you consider the WildCat Diesel dash pod? I've got mine ordered from them and unfortunetly I have to wait till they get isspro gauges in... been on back order for 6 weeks for him... who knows when I'll get them, but I've waited this long, another month is no big deal.

Who else is waiting for IssPro gauges with WildCat?

have you looked at the dash mount that geno's has that replaces the useless cubby hole in the dash where the heated seat switch would be (if you have leather) just a thought for less clutter

I just update my truck site

to include pictures of my guages.

If it helps any

I used both the dash and pilar pod as I have lot's of guages and have plans for some more. Just need to get some sleep... :)

The dash one I just laid on top of my dash cover. Works just fine.

Turbo Tim 1 Where did you mount your guages? also how did you hook up the mechanical fuel pressure gauge?I'm going to go with the Isspro, boost, pyro, and fuel also. thanks ,Gregg

OK, I did it. Called Andy and ordered the Westach stuff and the two pod Gauge Gizmo and also a TDR badge in case anyone my town here has any idea what TDR is. I liked the Rod's Pods, but with only teo gauges I felt it may look a little bare.

I have learned a lot in this process. First is that Geno's and Diesel Power Products both have great reps that answer the phone! I never felt rushed and they both were answering questions I didn't even know I should ask! It would have been a real toss-up if DPP carried Westach gauges. Also, I learned the value of this site and the members here. While searching for the gauges I found info on Filter1.com and wound up buying a "4/2/1" kit from them because they had the BHAF from WIX.

Anyway, thanks to all for all of the help.

I have a 3 guage A-pillar mount, but to be honest with you one hole is still empty and I have a temporary guage mounted under the hood that I swing under the windshield wiper every once in a while but I am going to get the fuel gauge soon and if you do a search you can find tons of info on hook ups. Basically I am going to run new fuel lines and mount my lift pump back by the tank and then run -6an lines to the filter and VP and put in a connection for the fuel guage with a needle valve in the line.
