Gauge Questions - Need Some Opinions

I need some opinions on gauges for my truck... You can see by my sig i have a good old 24v so one gauge I know i'm getting is a fuel pressure gauge. . But my question is that I will prolly be keeping it stock for a a little until i can beef up the transmission when i save some more funds up. . But thats not going to be for a while. . :-laf :-laf I know you are prolly saying thats what we all thought until the bombing bug bit us... :-laf :-laf But I was looking at getting a Pyro, Boost & Fp and mounting them to the pillar. . I guess my first question would be do I need a transmission temp right away if I don't plan on doing any towing or hauling right away just using it as my daily driver to drive back & forth from work about 60 miles total a day. . Then just using it to bop around town... Or should I wait a little and get the transmission now & the boost gauge a little later on? And finally I was looking at getting the ISS Pros EV Series... Has anyone had anyproblems with these? Or is there a better set on the market?

I would say you have the right combination, but I would add the Trans temp before you start towing. I've used Isspro for about 25 years and like them, However I don't have the EV series so I can't comment on them... ... .

Pyro, and boost gauges are fun to watch. They indicate what kind of load is on the motor and the power it is putting out. For these reasons alone I think they are a must have.



The lift pump on the 24v is a known problem so having a fuel pressure gauge allows you to keep an eye on it, important but not something you will probably keep an eye on constantly as you drive.



transmission temp is kind of the same thing, important but not something you will probably watch constantly. I've got my sender in the pan so it doesn't move much but when it does you know you have been working the transmission.



My recommendation would be to get all four. If I recall correctly, the most expensive gauges was the Pyro and boost. The temp gauge was not that much more. Place the boost, pyro and fuel pressure on the pillar and put the transmission temp at a different location.

If it where me I would do all the gauges you think you will ever need at once. That way you don't have to go back and take stuff apart to reinstall more stuff. I had a one pod gauge holder and switeched to a two pod when I added my 2nd gauge. It was a real pain doing the second install.

I just installed Isspro EV (white face w/ blue lighting) gauges a week ago. They are great, especially at night. I previously had Autometer gauges and I like Isspro much better.
