Under load my Isspro boost guage rattles. Any fixes or ideas what that is?

I am using the boost bolt for my pressure reading.

Mine does it every so often, usually the post mount screw is loose. I tighten it and the rattle goes away until the next time.

It's normal - pressure pulsations in the line. Kind of like water hammer, but on a tiny scale.

If it really bothers you, you can put a snubber in the line (Geno's carries them). The noise won't harm anything.

Thanks!!

It looks like your both right, I tightened everything up and it elimininated 90% of the rattle and what is left (which is not very much) I will see if I can live with before putting the snubber in.

Thanks so much.

Any gauge seeing pulsations that cause an audible sound is being slowly beaten to death internally. Get a snubber.

If anyone is experiencing boost gauge rattle with an ISSPRO gauge - if you are interested in testing a possible fix, please PM me or email me (michael@isspro.com).

Thanks and regards,

Michael Pliska

Truth be told, I actually like the rattle. It's an audible signal that I'm gaining boost rapidly.

Ryan

Ill admit that I was learning to use the rattle as some what of an audile signal as well. It works like a vertical speed indicator in an airplane to some degree. The rattle was there when you are rapidly building boost, but stops when your rate of change drops.
