I have gauges in the new truck and thought I'd share the readings with everyone for discussion.

The max pyro I've seen is 1100 pre turbo.

The max boost is 19-20 in the intake.

Fuel pressure is 15-16 at idle and will drop to 9 at full throttle.

Mileage has been about 17 daily driving but it is still on its first tank!!

My opinion, comparing it to the fueled up 95 that I had a few years ago, this thing is a slow and sad product!! I still like it and will slowly wake it up. The boost comes up slowly not like the 12 valve was.

It is hard to believe these things can be detuned this much.

Onward!!!

I'll try to wait till at least the first oil change to get started!!

It is hard to give up the warrantee for power. We know the kind of service the dealers can give us. LOL. I'm expecting them to say "you put gauges in it? you just voided the warrantee. "

took mine in a couple of weeks ago for a lift pump. I was figuring a hassle abouit the gauges, but i got none. In fact both the service manager and tech both liked the set up. In fact they even told me that thier fuel pressure gauge showed exactly what mine did!

I've had no prior experience with these trucks so I haven't a reference, but mine feels really slow sometimes, and other times not. Around town when you need the occasional squirt to make a light or get across traffic it feels slow (understandable - no boost yet), and even working through the gears from light to light it feels slow. But cruising at 75 on the highway pulling my small (< 3K) race trailer, I've got a lot of pedal left, and she wakes right up when I step on it to pass.

These trucks are very obviously tuned to make NO smoke, so they've got NO fuel when there's little boost.

Your gauge readings are what I saw before I added the EZ. Had mine in to the dealer once for the "clock spring" recall. They did not say a word about my gauges or BHAF.

Boost comes up slowly?

Now I am curious, how slow is slow for the boost coming up? My '00 3500 is stock (4" exhaust ready to go in) and I was surprised at how fast the boost comes up. With no load it gets up to 19lbs in only a second or two starting from 5lbs or less. That seems quick to me but I have nothing to compare to.

Thanks

Bill
