Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Gauge removal

I'm in the process of pulling out my mods before I trade my truck in. I am going to pull my fuel, boost, and egt gauge so I bought some 1/8"npt brass plugs to seal the holes. I got to thinking though, will the brass plug be ok in the exhaust manifold?

the threads on my thermocouple are brass so i suspect that a brass plug will be fine

They will be just fine. harder then heck to git out once they git heated and expand but hey you wont be the one pullin them out. Ive put them in trucks before and hadno problem with them meltin
