I’ve just ordered 2 SPA gauges from DIS, an EGT/Boost gauge and a Fuel Pressure/Water Temp. gauge. Before I go any further I have to tell you the service from DIS was amazingly quick. I ordered them yesterday, one was out of stock so they said they would see if it could be drop-shipped to me. Today the UPS guy showed up with both gauges, and I didn’t pay for overnight shipping!

On with the questions:
From previous posts it appears that I need to get a –4AN to 1/8 NPT adapter for the fuel pressure sending unit if I’m going to attach it to one of the Schrader valve fittings. Is this correct?

The main question I have is where to install the water temperature sending unit. There are a lot of plugs in the block, but I don’t know if they go to water, oil or other passages. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm interested in the fitting size too. I will be ordering an electric Autometer fuel pressure gauge. The mechanical one I got will not fit in the pillar mount.

This is a great site for all kinds of info...

I believe the correct size is -6AN to 1/8". Check out Brandon's site below for all the info you will need. I also have a SPA, but purchased the Schrader to SPA adapter from him and I'm unsure of the size.

I can tell you that the plug you want to use for the water temp is at the rear of the block, driverside, behind the map sensor. Be warned, when you remove that plug, I think it's a 3/8 drive, you will loose coolant, so be prepared to either drain the system or have your new SPA adapter ready to go a. s. a. p.

Goodrich makes a 4an x 1/8npt adapter that can be used. the spa's must be mounted pre filter. I have two adaptors that i have made that offer the flexibility to mount the pressure sensor in any direction.

Brandon, Hey there,
Does the adapters still allow the use of the schrader valve for testing?

BigDaddy, you have to remove the Schrader valve for the SPA adapter to work. Sorry I was wrong on the size, gentlemen. As always, still learning.

Bigsaint,
Thanks #ad

Has anyone tried a union and "T" fitting for prefilter? I am only going by memory (boy, that’s scary #ad
), but seems that there is more than enough room.
