I am going to get gauges but I was curious your thoughts on which ones to stay away from and which ones will work pretty well. I want something to be reliable and last, so if it costs a bit more then so be it. Also, I was wondering if anyone had a temp gauge on their manual 5-speed and if so, how did they do it? I know it may not be neccesary but I would like to do it out of curiousity.

There are some good gauges out there but I chose Isspro. Egt's Boost,

transmission and Mech Fuel pressure gauge been on for 5 1/2 years no problems.

:DOo.

ive got the optix gauges on this truck. ive had the pyro and boost for about 2 years. the trans and FP for about 4 months. so far so good but i did have a noisy boost gauge. the night visibility is awsome.

had isspro's on my old 97 and last time i say it, they were still fine (3 years old). for the money, i dont think you can beat them. never a problem.

the only complaining Ive heard is on autometer egt not accurate/functioning. I run ISSPROs now had DIPRICOL ,EGT was off almost 200 degrees! and the ISSPROs match factory nicely! cheap @ EGUAGES.com (TDR site sponser)

Well I'm glad I asked because I was actually looking at Autometers, so thanks for the heads up. I definitely want accuracy since I already know I'm pushing my luck when taking it beyond stock. "I am my own warranty station. "

I have Auto Meter Cobalt gages for boost and pyro. The LED cobalt blue color is easy on the eye's at nighttime but very easy to read. These are probably some of the most expensive gauge you can buy. These gauges with sending units are around $180 - $200 each. If you want gauges that are functional and that really look cool after dark the Auto Meter Cobalt may appeal to you.
