How do you all wire your gauges? Solder them at both ends, crimp the connectors tightly? What about the wire gauge size? I'm adding one more gauge, to monitor the transmission temps and I may re-do all of the wiring. An inquiring mind wants to know. TIA

John, I feel that the soldered connection is the best. Having said that, I usually crimp because of the ease of it. I am finding myself "dipping" the ends of the wire in silicone selant before I put them in the connectors to crimp. I guess I am just toooo... lazy to do it right.

i ALWAYS solder!! now the disclaimer. sometimes soldering connections is a PITA. sooooo, some times i can't get to a connection to solder, and have to crimp or put bullets or blade connectors on to plug in. my most unfavorite way is any sort of scotch lock. those things invariably cut part of the copper strands. that starts corrosion (i suspect the reason for silicone--to prevent corrosion), and eventually you lose the connection. dielectric silicone or jelly helps some. i prefer to solder and shrink wrap wherever possible!

SLittle, redneckdr got it right, I silicone to delay the eventual corrosion(especially in external connections) that happens whenever I "rewire" something.
