Im looking into a set of guages for my 02 QC. What type of gauges should I get mech? Elec? Also what is the diff between a EGT gauge and a pyro gauge. Should I get a boost/vac or just Boost. What about the Fp what the highest range I should get 15psi 60psi 100psi? Has any one got the BD X-mon system that is digital?

As far as what you need... .

EGT/Pyro same thing

Boost 0-40 or 0-60 depends on how many BOMBs you plan on in the future, but a new boost gauge is cheap to upgrade. I got 0-40. Don't need vacuum.

Fuel Pressure 0-30 is ideal I think. Any more is too much, any less isn't enough. Unless you could find a 0-20 or something, but generally they are 0-30 or so.

Tanny temp if you have an auto.

Mechanical vs. Electric is kind of your preference. Electric can be more expensive. And easier to install. Mechanical some say are more reliable/accurate.

I don't personally like digital, but can't comment on the quality of the x monitor.

I just put in ISSPros and am so far happy with them. They match stock almost perfect. They are a combination of mechanical and electric. EGT and transmission temp are electric, boost and FP are mechanical. There is a pic of my ISSPros in my gallery, before they sent me the new ones with orange pointers. Do a search for gauges on here and you'll have enough reading for hours.

i too dislike the digital gauges, i think its easier to read the standard gauges. . i personally all electrical gauges, but personally id stick with the electrical trans and boost, but i would choose a mechanical FP gauge with an isolator...

In a thread some time ago a comparison was done on a variety of gauges and they ALL worked pretty well and were all nearly the same cost. I guess it comes down to personal likes. What I looked at was how they matched existing gauges and how they looked at night, did not want something I could not understand at a glance. I used combo gauges and they work for me, but a lot of people don't like them. Does not matter what you use as long as you have them to tell you what is going on in there.

I would assume because you are looking at 2 different manufacturers.

A pyrometer is a device used to measure radiant heat. Or something like that I forget the actual definition. An EGT (exhaust gas temp) gauge is just a pyrometer in the exhaust. Make sure the gauge you look at includes the thermocoupler (sp?). That is the expensive part if I remember right. Most from the sources that advertise on here come as kit with everything you need. About $100-150 I think for an EGT gauge.

Is any one using the triple gauge Dash POD from AUTOMETER? Im looking for PIcs if anyone has them. The PIcs on the Autometer Webpage are not that good. I would like to see them in a truck on the dash.
