gauge ?

I have a quick question. When wiring the dipricol gauges it says to use a different 12v ignition source for the transmission temp and the egt. I found a harness located behind the light switch that isnt being used. It has a 5 wire connector that has one ignition hot wire. Can I use tha to power one of the 2 above gauges or does that go to something that shouldnt be tapped off of?If not where is everyone tapping 12v ign power,besides the cig lighter?
