Going to order a full set of gauges in the next day or two (tach, boost, pyro, trans temp) and can't wait to get them installed. Oo.

I think I'll go with the Autometer diesel tach and Z-series for the other three. I just like the looks of them I guess. I'm going to mount the tach on the dash where the factory unit would have gone and put the others on the dash to the right of the column.

You guys who have the three gauge dash pods in your rigs, where did you get them? I know I've seen them one or two places but can't recall where.

I bought my pod from U. S. Gear. Here are the part numbers:

3-gauge

DC-6530 Base and DB-5930 Dome

4-gauge

DC-6540 Base and DB-5940 Dome

I paid $46 plus shipping for the 3-gauge pod. :)

That is the dash pod I have been looking for! I see you only have the three gauge pod installed. I would really like the four gauge pod but I am concerned about visibility. What is your opinion(s) on this... would the four gauge pod be in the way? My other option is the three gauge pod, plus a single A-pillar pod. Any other ideas on this?

Also where can I get a dash cover like shown the picture.

I don't think the 4-gauge pod would block your vision. The added hole would be on the left side of the pod, and the only thing you might not be able to see would be the middle of the hood. Even as short as I am, the 3-gauge pod doesn't block my vision at all. :)

I picked up the dash cover for $30 at the local swap meet. :D

Chris - The pods come in black so I painted it to match. I used SEM Color Coat #15303 (graphite). It is a really good match color-wise, and has just a touch more gloss than the trim. I picked it up from a local auto paint supply store.

Kieth - You might want to check eBay for a dash mat. Just remembered I saw some on there a week or so ago, but didn't pay that much attention to the vendor. If I come across it again I'll post a link.

nice pods

I gotta ask were did you cut into your dash at ?? for you wires ?were you keeping your fingers crossed ? I really like it !!

70,000 miles !!!!? wow must be like new !!!

Thanks!:)

I drilled a 1" hole right under the pod to run the wires through. It was kinda scary punching a big hole in a nearly perfect dash. The pod has a provision on the right front to route the wires down the front of the dash but I didn't want to do it that way - I'm real picky about how things look. :D

The truck really is in good shape. Other than some rock chips and mild scratches the body is in excellent condition, and the interior is spotless. :) I really lucked out finding this one... .

CB - More gauges? I have a hard enough time watching the ones I have. ;)

Nice guage setup Dan, I think that's the setup I will go with... although i will be bawling drilling that hole through the dash...

Chris---> Wat the heck is a NOS guage?

Nitrouse Oxide. It's what guys with big HP use for more power. N20 (NOS) is an oxidiser used to lower temps and burn more fuel.

It's a catalyst of sorts.

The gauge measures the output pressure of the NOS system. :D
