Well I finally installed my gauges yesterday. The whole project went really well, although I did put off drilling and tapping the exhaust manifold as long as possible. Even that went fine, once I got over my apprehension, I just took my time. Now some questions.

Fuel pressure is 13 at idle, 8-10 cruising and 6-7 WOT. If I remember correctly, these numbers are OK, do you agree?

One thing I goofed up on. I disconnected the MAP sensor while I installed the boost tubing. I than forgot do reconnect it prior to my test drive. When I checked the codes, I had a P0236 and P0234. I think the P0236 is due to not having the sensor connected but the P0234 (high boost) puzzles me. Isn't the EZ supposed to keep the computer from showing high boost? Any comments or ideas would be appreciated.

To any Dakota Digital owners out there, the gauges get very warm, is this normal?

Anyway, its fun to watch the gauges to see how different driving scenarios change the various readings. I'm learning a lot about my truck with this extra information. I should have done this sooner!

Your getting the same pressures that I get.

You might try reconnecting and useing dielectric grease on the connectors for the EZ.

I never thought about touching the gauge to see if it was hot or not. I will the next time I go to work.

When you disconnected the MAP

You created the high boost code also. The programs task manager then realized it was unpluged by looking at other data that didn't corralate. Merv

What boost pressure should a stock 2001 HO 6-spd produce. I just installed gauges for a fellow TDR member and on the test drive I could only make 19 psi. I ran 5th gear from 1400 to 3200 RPM to generate load. I think I even tried 6th under full pedal on a "quiet" highway. Thanks in advance. Marc

21psi is max for a stock HO. This is at MAX GCVWR. I highly doubt that "loading" the truck with just its own weight is enough to get the boost up to the max numbers.

At 21 psi, the ECM will cut back fuel to reduce boost.

Now you've gone and confused me. If the MAP is unplugged it seems like the computer would not sense any boost at all. So how could unplugging the MAP generate a high boost reading? Or does the MAP not sense boost directly? If not, what does?

If you could provide me some more info or some links that would help me understand this, I would really appreciate it.
