Vacuum Pump Question...

Just installed pryo and boost gauges.

WOT boost is 12-13 psi and pyro never above, 250. Note no heavy load, just ran it down the freeway.

Pump is advanced, straight pipe, and open K&N filter.

Are these normal readings for a basically stock truck?

What is next? Ready to start BOMBING!

Your EGTs sound WAY low. Is it pre or post turbo? If post, how far back? Pyrometer is about useless more than 1" behind the flange of the turbo. Boost sounds a little low, but not too far off. If you have a 21 cm housing, it will be lower. Try changing your fuel filter, and see if your numberrs dont go up. Or was it a typo- should have been 1250 instead of 250?

Daniel

Using the instructions from GENOS, I located the pyro 2" from the manifold flange to the turbo and 5/8" over from centerline of the manifold.

I manage just to mat the throttle on a slite grade, and it did begin to climb up to 275 quickly.

The housing is the stock original, I think it is a 21

My 93 did 16 boost bone stock with the 18. 5 cm housing. After bumping up the fuel and a K&N filter, it went to 22 - 24.

250 degrees on the pyro sounds like metric degrees or something. Mine runs about 800 crusing fast with a light load. It will barely get below 300 at idle.

It is possible you are looking a the "C*" scale... at least with me it would be...

Your normal cruising temps at highway speed should run between 450*F - 550*F. There will be some variation in this based on your pump settings, and load/rpm's etc. Every "stock" pump is set a bit differently and every stock pump repsonds a bit differently so there will be variation.

250*F is what I get if I sit in the driveway for 2-3 minutes after a "test" run..... :D:D

Pryo readings now accurate

Found a bad connection at the pyro, now once started, temp comes up.

Loaded the converter while in drive, boost came up to 12 and EGT came right up quickly to 800 or there abouts

Thanks,

Eric
